i think you guys and girls are taking the movie too seriously. i hope no one making this movie thought that they were making something groundbreaking and novel. i think they knew the action/matrix-ness was cheesy, but gloried in the cheesiness of it. this wasn't meant to be an airtight thriller which screwed with your mind; it was pure mindless entertainment (at least i HOPE that's what they were aiming for...).
Yah yah, we know it was meant strictly as timepass, entertaining fluff filmmaking. My prob is that even the cheesy bits got TOO cheesy in the long run, and the dramatic scenes lost their power when ya consider that everything was so unbelievable, you couldn't
feel for the characters as much as you woulda liked to. In short, one big problem was that Farah couldn't decide if she was making mindless mass-market entertainment or a serious family-drama/action film. It was too much a mish-mash of all the above.
But like I've said twice already, I LIKED it. In that senseless kinda way. There are certain aspects of it that are beautiful to look at (the songs, dances, Sush and Amrita, SRK), and certain parts that make me giggle so hard my stomach hurts.
And did anyone read the review by this moron over at PlanetBollywood.com who praised SRK's performance as being "restrained" and said it was one of his career's best performances???! Is he retarded or what??
