The new Samsung's "so called" LED TVs are not bad either. Their black levels are pretty good too.
Agreed, but on the 'value for money' scale, Plasmas have them beat hollow, specially when compared to the top end Pansonic plasmas. Unfortunately in India Pansonic is a total rip off, in that their pricing here is totally out of sync with the TV market. Most models are priced at double to triple their prices in the US.
Not sure why the Panny's and Sony's are so expensive in India. Does it have to do with the import tax the govt. imposes since the displays are not assembled in India but imported in it's entirety. I just saw a demo of the new Panny TC-54VT25. I am impressed. Finally a TV that comes close to a quality of a KURO. BLACK IS BLACK:) I think I am going to buy the 65" display with FULL HD 3D.
Nice review of the new Panny plasma.
http://www.snobreview.com/reviews/telev ... page1.html@divyansh - Please do not go by the displays you see in stores. It's all a gimmick. As Sanjay had stated they would turn on the Dynamic setting on LCDs that makes the picture bright. They do the same here in the US too. I have a Samsung LCD too. After reading a lot of reviews in the AVS forum, What Hi Fi and CNET, decided to buy a plasma. I made a side by side comparison of the Samsung LCD and Panny Plasma. OMFG, the Panny beat the Samsung LCD in every department. The blacks were a darker shade of grey in the Samsung LCD which I would not have realized if I had not purchased the plasma.
