In fact be warned; this is exactly what Yash Raj Films are doing with the re-release of DTPH and KKKH on DVD - i.e. taking the non-anamorphic first transfer and then artificially processing it into an anamorphic one.

Ali

Could someone explain to me what is the point of doing this. I mena other than fooling the customer what purpose does this serve, cause I am sure it does nothing to improve quality. Also the original 'Dil To Pagal Hai' DVD quality was horrible therefore I suppose the new DVD will only be worse.

I thought this films was meant to be sh*t. Has it been given the two thumbs up? From what i remember the reviews claimed the film was appalling. why is everyone therefore going out and buying this dvd?

The movie is actually really good as I stated above, critics are probably on a AMALL hangover and considered that when reviewing this movie. Best thing is to see for yourself, if you like love stories, and typical Indian films (Dil To Pagal Hai, DDLJ) then chances are you will like this film. The movie has some great comedic moments, especially when they are "filming" the video Dil Leke. HTHS is getting some pretty bad reviews also (IndiaFM), as always, best thing to do, check it for yourself.

My Final 2 cents? after 2 1/2 hr of tortutr test!

Film...I think AVERAGE!!, not that BAD! I liked it better than Hrithik's 2 stupid films, YAADEIN and AMALL!!
Plot, very simillar to SURF TUM< with triangle including 2 males and one female..but treatment more urban than rural, I loved locales and camera shots of SURF TUM, portrying beautiful..kERALA state!! and Also Sush's Dilbar Dilbar!!

Here! i think all 3 major actors are fine, plot is half baked, introduction of Saif in the film is base less...along with few songs.
Overall..all 3 major players do well what ever they are told to?
Songs are picturized well!!
Esha, as Esha second time is miles ahead from her first film..I wish her good luck! Her dress selection had been better handled.
The big family back ground with a lot of bIG NAMES like RATI AGNIHOTRI, MOUSMI CHATERJI and PRITI JHANGIANI, Still could not create the RIGHT AMBIENCE< FEEL and Director could not HIT the right cords here, to make it on par WITH, A YRF, Yash JOHAR or a Rajshiri Charm..so film strongly lacks that..Even director tried to put in there.
I personally think second half flows better with all three characters involved in the puzle!!
The film ended very well!!I liked that twisted look to it flows well with audience.
So OVERALL..Watchable, Not that GREAT but NOT that BAD either..we have seen worst crap.
Music is just ok!!
As far DVD..is concerned..Ali, sumed it up in his review...I will recomend this to people who like love stories with a predictable twist and even like THE THINGS that have been seen before.
For Folks like family, homily films..It is not up to par!!

Happy viewing..NTJNH!! :baaa: ;)

Personally, I don't think the movie is anywhere similar to Dil Chahta Hai. DCH is a classic. You can tell that they do try but the sequences end up being corny instead of comic. It suffers from overdoing the jokes, like most bollywood flicks.

As far as overall, the movie isn't half bad, but it isn't good either. Average, it is. There's a bunch of stuff that doesn't fit in well as arsh describes.

that's my piece of mind :)

Is this true, my DVD is well above average in both sound and picture.

If you ignore some silly stuff (such as the drooling of
various females over HR, the obnoxious DJ and some more)
you will find a film that really delivers in many scenes.
Exceptionally well done are
- zipper scene
- drunk dancing scene
- satirical video shooting scene followed by nobody is per-
fect scene followed by song
- final scene
- marriage song
- tell me your name scene
- it's her! scene (seeing the plane)

I had the Dvd for a while but I just finished watching the movie...One thing can be said...this is a greatly needed "thumbs up" for Esha, Saif, and Hrithik(post AMALL). The movie is well put together and Mr. Sablok does a great job on building you up for the climax..the scenes that Michel Hafner mentioned really are the highpoints of the film.. everyone did a great job, although there are some obsolete appearances in the film..I am proud to say that this is a movie that I really enjoyed..look out for Arjun Sablok for you will hear his name time and time again

Any chance of another DVD company making another DVD, and including the scenes that were obviously cut from the film!? :wot:
