I'm 100% with Sanjay. But at the same time, I think I know why Shemaroo(specifically) does this, correct me if I'm wrong. It's when certain channels(Desi TV programming) use a Shemaroo DVD, forexample, to feature a particular popular scene/song from a film on their show, it's an excellent FREE opportunity for Shemaroo to advertise their brand and product further to a larger market. In that case, such companies could care less for people like myself & Sanjay for boycotting their brand. Also, it's the "this is sirf entertainment yaar" mentality from the consumer that allows for such chor-minded companies to distorte a true director's vision.

@ Sanjay - Although I agree with you, I don't really think boycotting the DVDs would work. The reason I say that is that, in a way, I have boycotted them - the last Hindi DVD I bought was Rang De Basanti, and I know a lot of people who used to buy loads of Hindi DVDs, who now just download the films instead - yet this hasn't really changed the quality of the discs. In my opinion, the only result of a large scale boycott of these DVDs (if such a thing is possible) is the companies cutting even more corners, and releasing even more substandard discs.

This DVD is the compressed DVD-5 that I bought from a local store in Aruba. This version does have a watermark similar to Yash Raj DVDS (forced subtitles), which appear twice during songs.
