Looks great. I had my doubts that Ashutosh could pull of a comedy, but the trailers have proven me wrong.

Positives so far are the great songs and tidbits of Priyanka's varying characters.

My concern though remains about the 3 hour length.

This movie might be shorter version of a TV Serial "Mr. Yogi" starring late Mohan Gokhle and directed by Ketan Mehta.
The common factors between TV serial & movie are - main character's name is Yogesh Patel, looking for soulmate and meets 12 girls of 12 zodiacs (raashee).

The Bad:
-Length. Film is nearly 3 1/2 hours long. They could easily have done away with 4 of the songs (e.g. Maanunga Maanunga, Saloni, Su Che and Dhadkan Dhadkan), the whole Devukaka cheating and Bhai subplots, and the film would have lost nothing. In fact, it would have been much more enjoyable.
-Editing. Renu Saluja should have challenged her director about the worthiness of some of the frivolous scenes.
-The lengthy Bond style interpretive dance intros for each female character got annoying real quick. Yeah, Priyanka looks smoking, but the device wears its welcome quick.

The Good:
-Priyanka Chopra
-Priyanka Chopra
Oh and did I forget to mention, Priyanka Chopra?
A few years ago, I would have never believed the awkward side heroine from Sunny Deol's miserable Hero would grow in to such a Fine (in more ways that one) actress. She grabs you the second she walks in with her first role as Anjali, and you'll be hooked all the way to the end of the Jhankhana act.
Songs are almost all great (and only downside is some are unnecessary in the movie).

Have a feeling some audience members who are obsessive about their belief in astrolology may be offended by Ashutosh playing on the characters. But my wife and I thought it was cute. If only the film had repeat value in the cinemas.

Saw this film today. I liked it immensely.

Can't say whether it was the plot, or the suspense or comic situations or characters or music or lead actors or great locales at times or "clean family film with acceptable glamour (no dishum dishum)" or great rocking surround that I liked the film. Or may be it was all of above. Film was 3 hrs 35 min and I wouldn't have minded if the film stretched another hour or two.

Whether all 12 zodiac characters are represented correctly or not, I can't say but the two I knew of, one was 100% correct and the other I'll say, was only a partial representation showing the negative side only.

It sure has a repeat value for me. Actually I drove 200KM to catch this film (& D B Haddippa) and if possible will go again next weekend, with family.

You got me confused using 'he' & 'Gay' words.
I guess you meant

After ranting all what I liked in the film, here is some criticism:

1) In the film, some matches (zodiacs) are shown in such a light that not even a fool will want her to be his soulmate. AG already clarified in start credits that it's just to make a story. Obviously there are positive, as well as, negative characteristics for each zodiac sign and are not shown in balance.
If girls' characters actually were as they showed in the film, representing zodiac signs, 70% of the girls will never get married.

2) National heroes' names should not be used for villain names. I don't recall anyone using Lala Lajpat Rai, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chander Bose, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Mohammad Ali Jinnah et al, names used for villain names or for baddies. Obviously, writers didn't know Mool Raj's place in history, the last icon of resistance to completing conquest of India by East India Company (1849-50) ??

Please please please don't give him any ideas. For all we know, he'll next make a 10 hour children's cartoon.

This was really a bizarre experience to have watched this film. Ashutosh Gowariker's simplicity(for a lack of a better term) trademark is apperant in the movie, but the storyline is soo pointless, it doesn't serve the purpose or need of the aim it rides on and it drags non-stop for 3 hours makes it even more difficult to enjoy any little bits of quality this film has at all. I've seen far worst films this year than this, but this one just had me scratching my head.

Agreed about most of what you've said DVD collector. If only we could cut and re-edit the film. I do think there's an enjoyable film buried in all those unnecessary scenes.
