Although this is comparable to recent Eros DVD - colours seem a little improved but still don’t match the vibrant quality of the promos on the same disc

..but it's getting much closer. Other thing is all these DVD coming from Spark and Eros seem to same type of transfers; video sourced instead of progressive film sourced. Better production of the telecine (instead of this cheapish look) could improve Eros and Spark DVD especially in sharpness. Video processing like noise reduction filters seem way too excessive on these new films.

I think package is worth of price?? IMHO esp for all HRITHIK fans out there!
Song selection list looks very good too>>i am not talking abt transfer quality here!! :baaa: :ffs:
Without songs, price would be around $15 for just being HRITHIK's foto on the cover, rather being $12?? Is he worth extra $2 for each fim?? upto ur own judgement :baaa: :vsneaky:

Just finished watching the film today, just gotta say its really good. The script was well written, and the way it was presented was very modern, it reminds one of "Dil Chahta Hai" (and not the fact that Saif is in it, direction wise). Its good to see young directors taking different and unique approaches to their film. The song videos were well done, more artsy than anything else, not the same dances all over the place. This is a typical love story, so if your not into watching love stories, just pop Lagaan back in and watch that over and over again.

The only problem was it seemed kinda short, watched it with some friends, and they all wanted more, must show how good the film was presented. All three actors acted well. The film came out to be 2 hours and 35 min or so, also seemed like they cut out Hrithik's dance sequence, which a small part can be seen in the interview, for the song Chunariya. ???

More info on the song DVD. All songs are presented in non-anamorphic video, in their correct aspect ratio. Some of the songs are in a wider aspect ratio compared to the full film DVD. In particular Company which is close to 2.55:1 on the song DVD - the film DVD is 2.25:1 (I'll get some comparative screen shots later).

Not sure but Eros could be artificially making these non-anamorphic transfers artificially into anamorphic DVDs – would explain the excessive video processing artefacts noticeable on most Eros DVDs :doze:

In fact be warned; this is exactly what Yash Raj Films are doing with the re-release of DTPH and KKKH on DVD - i.e. taking the non-anamorphic first transfer and then artificially processing it into an anamorphic one.

Maybe we should write to Yash Raj and ask if this is what they are planning to do.

What about the sound? Is it true DD 5.1? Arsh, could you please comment on that since you're the only one that has seen the DVD. It might not be a bad deal for just the songs DVD if the sound is good.

NTJNH DVD has pretty good 5.1 sound - from what I've checked (I got my copy this morning). I've only seen certain parts of the film. One scene that stood out was when a pigeon flies across the screen and behind; surrounds have been put to good use here as you can hear the pigeon going from one speaker to the other.

As for the song DVDs – they're all encoded in 5.1 but it’s all hollow pseudo 5.1, you hear the same sound on all channels.

Not planning, they've already done it ;)

I second Ali, on that, sound of nTJNH film is pretty decent, esp pigeon scene as Ali described. I have not finished the film yet my self, But I concur with Ali on all he said!

video wise same GARDEN VARIETY eros transfer! Colors are GOOD mostly and pellette reminds me very much of RAJU CHACHA transfer, toyish look to every thing!? what do u say Ali, comparing this transfer to RAJU CHACHA?
As i remember Raju Chacha had very good 5.1 surround sound too!
Another Good transfer i saw from EROS was DHADKAN, that might be a bit softer for most people's taste, but over all, good IMO!! not taking abt perfect! from only EROS perspective.

PIAM was done well too, But people gave credit to original film shooting format to that one, more than being EROS KAREEGARI???
But again, i will repeat not a BAD PACKAGE deal? with good song collection included with sub optimal picture and sound!

But EROS have neverdone and will never do a MISSION BOLLYWOOD kinda collection like DEI :baaa: :stupid:
