Incidentally, I recently decided to make a copy of HSSH using DVD Clone
in 2 split disks and was successful doing it. I used to have freezing problem (after abcd song) but that problem is resolved in the replicated disk.

The video must be horribly squished since the aspect ratio is 2.55:1

It looks awesome!!

Actually, the reviews just shied away from declaring it, as good as or better than HDDCS.

But from its Eastman color point of view, I don't think is is better than DEi HDDCS.

And HSSH was too squished (2.55).

I've never had it but I've seen SSs and reviews.

Its really hard to believe that movies like "Hum Saath Saath Hain" and "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", whose DVDs then were one of the better Bollywood discs of that time, now are in the worst possible Home Video format (DVDs authored by Ultra and Eros respectively).

Both of them have soft, dull and colorless video.

It was once when these movies looked exceptionally colorful and vibrant on Home Video format (talking of their DEi editions) and appeared like a movie miles ahead of its times.

Alas! Now they look like telefilms of the early 90s.

Both the movies have pseudo 5.1, muffled and distorted audio on their latest DVD editions.

However, once both were authored with delightful, strong and punchy 5.1 audio which even now, makes it sound as good as a new movie (audio is even better on HDDCS).

Other stuff like menus and extra features too were handled brilliantly, while menus on the latest edition are supremely hideous and unattractive.

Let's hope for a new Blu-Ray edition of both the movies with proper restoration and delightful features.
