I'm new. but I did a search using the search feature before posting this & no luck but..

are our Indian (Hindi/Tamil/Telugu) dvd's region free? I know some of them aren't. the ones released by columbia tristar aka sony. I'm talkin about the Ayngaran, EVP, DEI, EROS, YRaj (I'm guessin Ayngaran are region free as they UK based & I'm in USA).

how do I check to see if they are region free? also, I hear that the brits can play our NTSC R-1 discs on their PAL TV's but dont work vise versa.

someone enlighten me. thx :p

Yes they are region free. However YRF DVds are macrovision protected, and I heard even a few EROS titles are also macrovision protected. Get a DVD player which will disable macrovision and then you are all set to go ! & Yes AYN Is region free..

Well Brits can indeed play R1 discs provided they have disabled region coding as their TVs can downsample the movies to 50 fps. You cant do it here in NA.
