Shemaroo Bobby DVD released a few Yrs back was excellent. Among one of the best Shemaroo DVDs.

But, their current version is crap. Why the hell did they re-encode ?? Old issue was Pseudo Progressive and had excellent colors and sharpness. The now available is PAL to NTSC converted Field Averaged with strange (oversaturated) colors and dull picture. OLd release was 2 hrs 48 min 30 sec and the new version is 2 hrs 41 min 30 sec, difference being the PAL speed up of 4% in the current release.

I had picked up a new Shemaroo Bobby DVD as I saw it on sale, had a flashy colorful packaging and because I remembered that my orig Bobby DVD was on a rotting media. Luckily, I had backed it up.
------------------------
New inferior version of Shemaroo Bobby has a run time, printed on back cover, of "162 min aprox".
Better version from some time back has a run time printed of "168 min aprox".

Funny that you noticed this - I also noted this in Satyam Shivam Sunderam. I managed to get hold of a copy of the Shemaroo one from India. It looked excellent - only problem was the disc was scratched up and didn't play properly. I then ordered another copy from Shemaroo. It had a different cover and I was positive that it was a different version - not as good quality.

I think I have the original version of Bobby.
