how about recommending Vel (tamil), the pq is as good as bluray (if you do a blind test, hard to say it's a SD dvd material)

Ayngaran have asked me to see what other films could be released on blu-ray. Hence, I've been speaking to producers and finding out the quality of thier negatives.

Well, no-one has actually got a copy. It seems to be rumours. I'll speak to AVM and find out.

The ending is the same, but slightly different. The director removed the preachy voice-over. The film ends more "professionally"

Vel did poorly at the box office and DVD sales were bad. I doubt this film would ever release on blu-ray by Ayngaran.

The film wasn't Surya's best moment. He has done much better films.

Santosh Sivan's Terrorist might be a long shot but i will be very happy if Ayngaran can cough up enough dough for Kannathil Muthamittal- i bet it will look gorgeous @ 1080p :) , i would snap this up in a heart-beat.

Thanks sunny for all the info - i am looking forward to owning Sivaji on Blu-Ray (no DNR please).

There is no DNR on the BD except for the one already in the master source which can not be removed.

This cannot be the actual Sivaji as the actress is stated as Uma

Could you explain this please - i meant the post-processing thats usually done to remove film grain etc. giving image a more plastic feel e.g) the US release of Pans Labryinth

or are you saying that there is no DNR/EE applied by Ayngaran's BluRay team ? in which case this is wonderful news.

That's why I suggested people are getting confused with this - because it isn't the actual Sivaji.

See the start of this thread. (There is DNR on the digital intermediate source of the film).
