Ok, so most of us were not too impressed with the movie.

But why are there two extreme lobbies out to paint this film as either a big hit or big flop? The business they're both reporting is pretty consistent, but websites like ibosnetwork seem to be certain this film is a disaster as well as an offensive piece of tripe. Boxofficeindia and indiafm, on the other hand, are holding up regular placards about the novelty and significant success of the film.

Is it another case of camps wanting to run down each other's films?

I was exactly thinking the same! there are two groups right divided in the middle like clinton/obama!

once who like it, think, it is on par of hollywood :o while others feel otherwise, just another flat, exaggerated hindi film.

for the second ones, i would recommend watching Elizbeth the golden age!that I personally enjoyed. For the first ones, never mind! go watch welcome or oso again lol. that suits them better

After Rajasthan, MP, now Jodha Akbar banned in UP.

Not discussing merits of the film, why all the fuss about Jodha name belonging to Akbar's wife or daughter in law, now and not all the times in the past ?? Wasn't Jodha the name of Akbar's wife in Mughleazam and mentioned in so many places. Where were the protests then ?? Why all the fuss now ??

The reason is quite simple, there was no tv media back then to sensationalize news and to provide a stage for cheap small time politicians to get their faces on tv, by raking non-issues. Of course the fact that politics has gotten way murkier and filthy since then plays a role in all this too.

Ashutosh Gowarikar himself states that only 30% of the film is history and the rest 70% is all fiction. Not much of a historical if you ask me, simply watch the film as a piece of fiction and enjoy it.

Jodha Akbar becomes the biggest Hindi Film Grosser in USA ??

It already has surpassed previous record holder if you consider US $ and if count in Indian Rupees, I think it'll surpass in that category too as the film is still running in theatres.

As per Boxofficeindia.com, previous US collections record holder was Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna with a total US Gross of Rs 150,000,000.
As per Boxofficemojo, KANK total US earnings were $ 3,275,444 and Jodha Akbar has, so far, $ 3,440,718 (surpassing KANK if count $). If count in Rupees, it's not quite 150,000,000 yet, because of weak US dollar presently.
