OK! even being a DVD 5 M/CCE and low bit rate, it looks way better!

Madhuri reminds me of Suchitra Sen here!

Nope! bottom, orig prog non anamorphic, top prog anamorphic

As far as I remember, YRF orig release was non-anamorphic and interlaced. The re-issue one was Progressive and anamorphic. So, there was big improvrement in PQ in case of DTPH re-release.

KKHH too was re-issued as Prog and anamorphic but as the orig too was Progressive, PQ improvement was marginal if any.

Now the plot thickens! Two reliable sources here, confirmed, orig release of DTPH, INTERLACED/NON PROGRESSIVE, there was a PIRATED DVD in circulation those days that Now,people thought was better than original. Then came PROG/ANAMORPHIC VERSION, that me and rana have.( All were single discs with extras on same disc)

Now I see there is a 2 disc collector edition by YRF that is supposed to be ANAMORPHIC plus extras on second disc.

Then there is 2 disc edition that poor Farooq bhaii got, ended up with non anamorphic interlaced.

Now!I decided to rent original from my local store again! It was orig single disc copy with gold media, extensively scratched but still working, authored by super digital, extras on same disc and guess what? It is DL, PROG, NON ANAMORPHIC!!

I'll try to post cover arts here for reference.

PROGRESSIVE/ANAMORPHIC, SINGLE DISC:

ORIG RELEASE , SINGLE DISC COVER ART(REVIEWED ON ZULM):
** I do not remember who reviewed this on zulm? ali or vjmajic? they do not quote whether it was progressive or interlaced.
** Rana and stephen do claim that orig was interlaced though.
** I found an ancient, scratched copy on gold media, that is PROG/NON anamorphic.

2 DISC edition with extras on second disc:

*** I never saw this.
** May be thats what Farooq got?
** Whether orig disc in this is prog or anamorphic or not, would love to hear from owners.

Finally: I do have ancient Pirate that I can double check on transfer!
*** I came across a YRF THE LEGEND SHAHRUKH KHAN SONG VIDEO, where DTPH songs are anamorphic and interlaced.

May I request all DTPH fans, if not too much trouble to indicate, which version they have including cover art and comments re transfer etc?

May be we should connect these threads !

I hate to say this but I told you so, I knew YRF would use the orignal beta master for the anamorphic version. People the non-anamorphic version would be much better in quality as the transfer from the 35mm print was done in non-anamorphic mode, thus this anamorphic DVD isn't the real thing, its just a way to con us out of more money.

Those fu*king chiefs!

reviving an old thread! more I dig into it, dirtier it gets!

I am agreeing with ali, and audit that it was BLOWN UP to anamorphic frames! :(

My YRF 2-disc set is ANAMORPHIC, but interlaced. ^ you were mistaken in your above post...it IS anamorphic. sound is horrible as usual...not a true 5.1

And like I said in the 'other' thread...give me the original prints for everything...I'll remaster them like never seen before.
