What part of the REM version would you say needs worked on?

I would need a sample from the DVD9 to tell you honestly what needs work on. Screenshots only tell you 20% of the story...

My remastering of the REM version will be taking it into one DVD9 disc Anamorphic 16:9 NTSC format...with English subtitles imported from my own discs. I'll have to manually adjust them...I believe the 'toughest' task for me then is to convert the audio from 25fps to 29.97...hopefully there won't be any screeching or artifacts...will still clean it up as best i can.

Will also use the songs with the DTS audio and make a DVD5 upscaled rip @ 720p, considering I'll have the source @ 1024 pixel width anyway...

But above screens from the Sony version are highly saturated...horrid. I wouldn't touch that if you paid me.

I'm pretty happy with the YashRaj...but if there are other prints that are better, PLEASE LET ME KNOW...apart from the REM version I am buying...

looking @ these SS, I'll stick with my yrf k3g man!If I will be you I'll rather acquire REM TAAL DVD!

PAL is 720 width, not 1024 - it's the DVD player/television that adjusts the picture to a perceived ratio of 16:9 or 576x1024.

I know this already...perhaps I misstated above :)

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know about something. I've got my hands on a 3-DVD set
from France of K3G.

This is better than the REM version...at least in ONE respect.

Unfortunately, no, it's not.

The DTS audio on the French Bodega DVD (and on all French Bollywood releases) is actually a re-encode of the Dolby Digital track - the same Dolby track which was used on the YRF DVD. This DTS audio was not mastered from the original stems.

I noticed the A/R is slightlly off...not quite 2.35...more like 2.30...just from looking at them - no calculations done.

I have fully analysed K3G release by Bodega...I would rate this WORSE than the YRF discs...here I will tell you why:

1) Audio sucks...even though DTS audio was remastered from the DD5.1 and sounds better, they forgot ONE VERY VERY IMPORTANT FACET...guess what it is? pitch correction...screechy. Also there are audio synch problems in many areas.

2) Video - PQ sucks. I felt this was softer even than the YRF discs...interlacing artifacts everywhere. Blocking was minimal.

3) Aspect Ratio is incorrect...and noticeable.

4) Overall: I would give this a 5 out of 10. I don't need animated menus for a DVD9. YRF DVD9s of late like to give 600MB or so to animated menus...why? Keep it small...100-200MB...that's all about what's good here on Bodega release. I had been expectinig more out of this release...turns out it was a disappointment.
