That may be true, but my subwoofer has never given me problems with any other dvd so far -- and yes, there are DSP settings that I can try which I haven't.

But then, it's the dvd author's responsibility to ensure dvds play properly and sound good in all 5.1 setups -- whether home theatre in a box or not ;)

I'll check out the subwoofer you've linked to soon. Thx.

I'm suprised this is the only DVD you have had problems with. Have you watched the original DVD of Star Wars: Attack of the clones opening scene where the star ship goes by, or in Finding Nemo the scene where Darla taps on the glass or the War of the Worlds where the pods attacks. The opening scene in the Adlabs Guru DVD has alot of bass. How did your system handle these scenes because they have alot more bass than the Heyy Baby DVD.

You should try to calibrate your system using a sound meter to make sure the subwoofer is at the same sound level as all your other speakers.

Star Wars -- opening scene -- well-authored dvd -- fab and heavy bass -- but no bass distortion at all on my system! Flawless rendition!

Finding Nemo -- again, well-authored dvd -- again fab and heavy bass -- but no bass distortion at all on my system!

War of the worlds -- superb extreme bass during the pod attack -- absolutely no distortion on my system! The sequence is a pleasure to "hear".

Several superbit and fullbitrate dts dvds with extreme bass -- again, no bass distortion at all

Heyy Babyy -- bass is not done properly -- distortion evident on most 5.1 setups

Yes, I'll try to calibrate as you say, but most home-theatre-in-boxes usually have "equal sound levels" already. And Sony FL5D is a superb performer...

The problem is really with the Heyy Babyy dvd and some exceptional setups and configs like yours may be working around it -- but the problem does not go away from the dvd ;-)

NewDeep - Have you watched the original Eros No Smoking DVD? I think No Smoking has alot more out of control bass than the Heyy Babyy DVD!

Yes I have, and yes the bass on No Smoking could have been done better but between the two I found the Heyy Babyy bass the greater evil.

Is there a blu-ray version of this film, I only ask cause that Sajid Khan seems to think there is a Blu-Ray version available on the international market

"We all know, you are a film buff with a huge collection of DVD's. What's the latest on your collection now?
No, now I have moved on to HD (high definition), Blu Ray discs. In fact, Heyy Babyy is among the first ever Hindi film Blu Ray discs to release in the market though it's available only abroad as of now.

Also, what I have done is, I have packaged the DVD in such a way that its wealth which no one will ever give you in a Hindi film before. I sat for fourteen days and I remixed the entire sound only for Blu Ray DVD. Moreover there is directors' commentary and Disc 2 has a four hour documentary which covers everything from the day of inception to the day of release of the whole film. I don't think any Hindi film has gone into such detail in a making of the film DVD"

I completely agree with u newdeep. I watched hey baby original eros 2 days back and struggled very hard to find why in the last 1 year, my subwoofer went berserk for the first time... i went mad with settings, doubting it to be the expiry date of my creative 5.1 !!!. Though I have an entry level 5.1 creative (model T6060) and so cant comment on whether the sound is gud on high end, but still, this was the very first time that the bass levels distorted to annoying levels. And for that again i endorse newdeep's comment :-

Sunny when are Eros going to be releasing them because this is what EROS say:

Quote:
Hi,

It has been seen from EROS International that the following announcement is
not true and not certified by Eros International.

http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=856

The claim above seems to be false and it would be appreciated if the
following thing is immediately taken off the site.

Please do it as soon as possible since it might become a legal issue for us.

Also please do inform us once the announcement has been removed.
