The best songs how is the print of this dvd

its not actually bad, i can post screenshots but my laptop has a little problem

Picked up Eagle Jhuk Gya Aasman, along with Eagle Sagaaii, Shehnaaii, Ek Phool Do Mali.

All prints are colorful & pleasant but all are " Film to PAL to NTSC " converted Field Averaged.

Also saw many V Shantaram and Bimal Roy DVDs on Indus brand. Wasn't sure about Indus quality so just picked up Indus Mere Jeevan Saathi (Rajesh Khanna) to see how Indus prints are. Must say, Eagle are on the low end of acceptable (don't expect DEI/ BEI or Shemaroo) but Indus is not. Well, in the absence of any other alternate for M J S, Indus M J S will do for the time being. BTW, there were tons of Indus Brand DVDs of films not avail before.

After playing Esquire VHS and Eagle DVD side by side:

1) Could not detect any speed difference between VHS and DVD. Now I think that VHS is Film to PAL to NTSC and hence is not cut from orig release. it's 166.5 min implying film time of 173.5 min, close enough to 172 min @ 90 ft per min film speed.

2) No major/ important scenes are cut in DVD, as compared to VHS, making up 9.5 min of run time difference. Mainly, a few frames here and there, throughout.

3) A few minor segments that I detected missing in DVD:

---Near 42 min mark on DVD, Saira has to go out with girls. She tells Rajender Kumar to get out of the closet and escape. Instead, the maid locks up the room. What's missing is the Restaurant scene (45 sec). And then Saira comes back. In DVD they show Saira just comes back.

---Near 60 min mark on DVD,
Missing:
a 15 sec portion showing Yumlok scene and prelude dialog before David tells the problem.
and another 15 sec portion Saira completing a dialog that she'll ask justice and coming to mansion.

---Near 95 min mark:
Missing: Saira writing letter and a minor starting dialog bet Saira and dad. (35 sec)

---Last 9 min climax: 73 sec dhishum dhishum/ chase etc missing somewhere.

hopefully we will get a full version soon, btw is dharmji's hathyar released on dvd or aamir's aatank hi aatank?

my uncle went to watch this and he said there alot of scenes that werent in the cinema but were in the dvd, like the titles, most of it was cut in the cinema

Must have been a re-release where lots of scenes were cut. Original theatrical release sure was close to 170 min when I saw it in 1965-66. And then, my 1980s VHS that I saw hundreds of time with my 2 Yr old (she wanted to see it again and again) and hence I knew all the sequences.

The VHS seems to be complete version. No abrupt scene changes or dialogs cut abruptly.

Obviously, the DVD is made from a print where frames are missing every here and there because of over 40 yrs time lapse.

The plot where a poor man is cremated and his soul put into a super rich man's body comes from 1040s-50s film "Here Comes Mr Jordan". It's amazing how much more material (plot sequences) was packed in, in a 120 min film HCMJ. Obviously, the body exchange plot had to be trimmed to make way for songs, romance and comedy formula.

BTW, HCMJ was later remade as "Heaven Can Wait" (late 1970s) and that too wasn't as good as HCMJ.

hmmmmm proberly, we cant blame them wen scenes are cut out from the print they have to make the dvds, its jsu like that

There's also a Shemaroo version. Is the movie cut in that version as well?

I have the Shemaroo version very nice print I don't think it's cut
