Arguably the first of its kind in the world, the Lagaan DVD blog is up and running with Aamir Khan replying queries...

I posted a request to discuss the orangish hue in the CTS DVDs versus the yellowish hue in the Excel DVDs, but all AK replied was that he found the quality of Excel DVD much superior -- I personally agree but then would have loved if AK had discussed the hues in detail -- especially if he had posted his opinion on which hue was closest to the theatrically screened movie ;-)

It's on the Excel site already so should reach musicyogi soon http://www.excelhomevideos.com/showprod ... ct_id=1864

BTW, the original international version "Madness In The Desert" with English and Hindi audio options is being considered by Excel for release.

Let's hope so. It was extremely disappointing that the Chale Chalo DVD has no subtitles.

I got my box from MusicYogi last week ... I was out of town so I only got to look at it yesterday. Firstly it arrived in perfect condition (actually a couple of the discs were loose in the box but thankfully they were not badly damaged).

The box itself is great and is proudly on display in my living room! The DVDs - I flicked through the movie - it looks okay - not breathtaking as I had expected. I probably need to compare this with the other two versions that I have (Columbia TriStar - Pal and NTSC) and draw my own conclusions.

I am pretty glad that I bought it however - it's a really nice package and really well put together.

My film strip is a good close-up shot of Bhuvan (AK) during the cricket match - so I'm glad I got a nice clip of the movie.

I would have liked to be in awe of the quality of the DVD though. The hue is distracting - and I would probably re-adjust my TV to cool down the warm hues a little.

Got mine too. I was expecting just his autograph on the top of the wooden box.

Instead a personalised message on the back of the box is really heartwarming.

Thanks for the updates, NewDeep. I'll wait for the version with English audio. I hope its not shorter than the Indian version. I wish they had released Chale Chalo with English subtitles in the first place! :baaa:
