By the way, just came after visiting a few DVD retail outlets. The Original Excel VCDs of both lagaan and Chale chalo are already in stores now. DVD release awaited.

It looks like those who pre-ordered the Disc set through Music Yogi, last week, have already got it. While people like me who ordered through Indiatimes last month itself haven't yet received it :(

some indiatimes orders will get Aamir Khan autographed copies -- some boxes are reportedly held up in Khan's office ;-)

Guys!! Its official now!! Just came from a major retail outlet here in Bangalore ..... All DVD versions - single as well as Wooden Box are now in stores of INDIA. Wooden version MRP INR 1999... And its a Big one-- I myself didnt buy it yet but really got a Big feel holding in my hand. The movie split on two disc, this has to be the BEST Indian DVD yet.

Eagerly Waiting for SS...

Well......This looks like the first of its kind here in India- Just got hold of the single DVD Version that I ordered on rent. And For the first time ever for esp Indian branded DVDs, I see the imprinted words "For Rental Only" Otherwise it has always been the converse.

Must say I Had a tough time getting SS from this one. Beause.....

1) the DVD first of all didnt play in my Win DVD6
2) To copy to HD, Tried DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter as well as DVD Fab and videoduplicator but all in vain. looks like some innovative copy protection tried by excel.
3) Finally tried to copy just the movie only in DVD Fab and luckily this time got it allright on HD .. Cud now easily play in WinDVD6.

So guys...Coming Soon... SS !

#Disc Size: 7.95 GB ....wow!... the largest size hindi disc I have ever seen
#DVD Movie Bit Rate Average: 3.82 Mb/s ... geee.. thats too bad!!
#Deleted scenes Bit rate Avg: 6.5 MB/s ...(the irony)
#Dolby Digital 5.1 with the Dolby Logo Ad just before the movie
#No logo of excel disturbing the visual thruout the film
#Whole movie is in one title only.
#Static Menus
#All region, PAL with 4% Speed up.

Comments welcome .... Ofcourse its obvious that for this single version excel might have compressed the version that they have put on 2 DVDs in the wooden Box. So next looking Fwd to SS from that version.


Btw, wud be greatful if anyone can put some comparison shots from the Sony CTHE DVD... as atleast single versions can be compared here.
