This is interesting - there is no song on the CD that wasn't in the film (as far as I can remember). The only one that was different was the Lata song - which was changed in the film (and it's much better than the CD ... IMHO).

Are there any details about what the deleted song is?

The CTS DVD had a deleted scene - about 17 minutes long.

More updates:

>> Picture quality is said to be 2 times superior to the CTSHE Lagaan DVDs if not any other Indian film DVDs ever!

>> No DVDs of Lagaan released before (by CTS) carry the deleted song, the song is called ‘Re Bhaiyya Chute Lagaan ’, it is available on both 2-Disc and 1-Disc versions.

>> And those who don’t need the physical extras and can wait -- will also get to buy the 2-Disc to be separately sold soon.

>> The Paper and Ink used is anti-aging!

:-)

Well, please release the HD master. I'm not buying another DVD version after Sony's. And with uncompressed sound.
Keep your fingers crossed -- the BD is expected by next year...

So now I remember this song! It was on a limited release audio cassette of Lagaan. I think I heard about it on Zulm.net a long time ago. Anyway - indeed this song is on an audio cassette along with dialogues and background music from Lagaan.

Sony has nothing to do with DCH HD disc. This is a German release when it happens.
