Does this Shemaroo DVD fare better than the Asian release?

The Asian ab ab laut chalen was a pain, we had to return it to the store for a refund, dvd froze and english subtitles didn't come on.

I have the Shemaroo dvd -- it's 5.1 but the mix is not the same as in the theatre, sadly :(

This is interesting, considering that Yash Raj presumably released their DVD with Original Theatrical Aspect Ratio. Then where did the extra picture (in pirate DVD) come from?? As I understand, matting is not applicable in 2.35:1 prints, then what could be the explanation here??
I don't think that's entirely accurate -- check out the open-matte frames from Gladiator here: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDCompare7/gladiator.htm

many Hollywood movies are shot that way I think... perhaps this huge frame is the super65 process... not sure :)

what happens is that from such a frame, 2.35:1 version is extracted as well as pan-and-scan --- note that pan-and-scan happens on the huge frame not on the 2.35 version -- so if you view the pan-and-scan and 2.35:1 versions side by side, there will be several scenes where you will see more picture on top and bottom in the p&s frame than what you see in the 2.35 frame.
