I am trying to get them through the same channel I got Live In Italy. Will keep you posted.

I couldnt get this damn CD for resale. If you are really interested, you can buy from chennaionline.com. They themselves are finding it extremely difficult to stock/ship this. Its worth the money.

It starts with a story (probably Ilayaraja's own story?) of

how "heavenly" earth was - all of them enjoying good music
jealous of Indra (that earth is becoming a heaven) - that he himself enjoys the music but dont want human to listen to it
Indra's curse to earth - so introduce very "bad" music, so people fight each other and develop hatered among them
need for supreme god to come back to earth to save the earth - but god find Indra's music so powerful that he didnt have any other choice but to incarnate as "music"
birth of music messiah - the god
omni presence of his music all over the earth - that awakens the humans from their deep sleep and eventually how humans search for this new music, where it comes from, and finally finding that its coming from them.

The story is only couple of pages, but when you read the story, you are so inspired and wanting to listen to the music.

I could not find any traces to Guru, except when the theme for omnipresence starts with "deva sangeetham nee allo" tune.

Hope this is widely available

Very rich orchestration. I am repeatedly hearing and honestly I dont like it that much. Though there are moments of peaks where IR takes you to different world, lot of times you feel like you are just listening to an audio BGM of a movie. Not sure how to classify this album. First few tracks have a song like sequence of musical notes, where as the rest has more of bits and pieces here and there. Sometimes very disturbing. Dont buy or ignore this product from my feedback. Look for others feedback as well.

On a seperate note, my most anticipated album of this year is coming out Tomorrow. Mayakannadi. Hope IR doesnt disppoint with this. Heard that few songs will remind us Priya/Johnny days:) Lets see (or hear!)

arsh, he is talking about The Messiah ;)

Kalapani is originally Malayalee film, but is multilingual. Half the film's dialogues are in multiple languages: Hindi, English, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and German. The other half is entirely in one language (originally in Malayalam), but dubbed to Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, etc.

The title in each languages is Kalapani (Malayalam), Saza-E-Kala Pani (Hindi), Sirai Chaalai (Tamil), and Kalapani (Telugu.)

dvdu, aint nothing going to keep me from buying it either way :) my taste greatly differs from others....but I'm happy to know that this album features a real orchestra!

I do not understand why he takes these films like Oru Naal Oru Kanavu, COA, etc. I guess out of loyalty to the director. Except for the occasional Azhagi or Vishwa Thulasi or Kamal Hassan film, his post-2000 choice of films in Tamil has been unimpressive. He's had some decent songs in Malayalam, though. Achuvinte Amma was pretty good even if it wasn't exactly groundbreaking.

Exactly. Even in his recent albums his malayalam and telugu albums are miles away. I have a feeling that he get these directors who has no music sense and ask IR to do whatever he wants to do and for 25lakhs he thinks that the song he come up with more than enough. From now on, in Tamil, I will only look for IR-Kamal combo and may be IR-Bala combo. Rest of them I wont take chance.
