Is it sure that this is EROS sourced?

(Note that EROS logo does not always mean dvd source. EROS also distributes movies, and EROS logo sometimes signifies movie distribution only.)

I have the DVD - it's the same version as every other release so far. Only the packaging is different, the disc is exactly the same.
Thanks for the info -- that means even this has bad surround sound :(

I don't think there's such a thing as a US, UK or Indian version of the Eros release. Only the artwork is different, the actual disc will be identical in all territories.

But yes, the DVD I have has poor audio as well.
You know what -- I borrowed LRMB of a different batch, and the surround sound is better on this one ;-) Not great, but definitely more noticeable. How and why, dunno!

Ok, Cheeni Kum Eros is different in India and UK...

I never knew a 2 DVD Special Edition of this great movie existed, until I saw the pack today at a local DVD store. I had no second thoughts about going for it, for it is one of my all time favorites. And Eros didn't disappoint me. I already had the single DVD edition and the disc 1 here is same as that. But disc 2 consists of over 100 mins of extras spread over a 3.85 GB DVD5. The extras here is not the usual music launch video or mahurat. The extras take you right on to the sets where the movie was shot and shows it in parallel with the final edited versions.

There is an MBBS looking back video which shows what happened on the prequel and the impact the movie had on cast and crew. Then there are two making of music footages which show how each and every song was picturised and recorded in the studio. There are actual footages of Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal, Vinod Rathod, Karunya, Sanjay and Arshad recording the songs in the studio with the main crew waiting anxiously to see how it turns out. Then there is a regular making featurette showing how some of the scenes where canned.

Finally there is a Munna meets Bapu featurette showing how the Marathi stage actor Dilip Prabhavalkar was transformed to Gandhi. They show the 4 hour make-up routine and also provide tidbits like how the crew accidentally discovered the old library building where Gandhi first appears.

Overall I just love this disc. This is what every fan hopes for. The cast and crew provide lots of interesting trivia about the movie, the funny incidents that happened during the shoot, the trouble they went through to get some shots right etc... And at Rs.99, this could be cheapest 2 DVD Special Edition pack out there. Comes in a nice packing too, with outer sleeve and all.

I would happily pay ten times that amount for a 1-disc edition in crap packaging if only the movie had good picture quality.
