I have had my 50' plasma TV for about 5 months now. I was constantly changing the settings and could never get the colors just right. Last week, I had an ISF calibration done on my TV. Now the black levels, colors, and skins tones look perfect! HD channels looked great before but now look even better!!

If you have an HDTV, I would highly recommend an ISF Calibration for your display. You won't regret it!!

I was thinking of getting my 50inch plasma ISF Calibrated, but it seems quite expensive. Instead I used the AVIA DVD system to help calibrete my system.

Yes, it is kinda expensive, I paid $250. I used both the AVIA and the DVE DVD to try to calibrate myself but I just couldn't get just right. The problem with using AVIA and DVE is that you are limited by adjustments available from the remote control.

The ISF Calibrator got into the service menu and adjusted the gray scale, gamma, etc. Now the HD picture looks so natural.

I got quotes from 3 ISF calibrators in my area, two of them wanted $250 and the third guy wanted $450. The one who wanted $450, would have done a video and audio calibration. He said he didn't do video by itself anymore and I didn't want him to do a audio calibration for me ( I calibrated the audio myself using the Radio Shack sound meter). So $250 was the going rate in my area.

Check out the following forum on avsforum.com for more information about ISF Calibrations:

These are the guys I used:

$450 does sound alittle high!

ISF Calibration is not targeted toward the average consumer that's why they can charge these high prices.
