Apprently the cast includes Mahima, Brad Pitt and Gael Gracia Bernal.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449467/

I did a few searches and can find no mention of Shilpa - so this may be an imdb mistake ... but Mahima is there for sure ...

Funny how the two get mixed up...

Anyway not seen Baabul (been told that watching a dog take a dump in slow motion at 8 different angles is better than watching this film)... but Babel is a goddamn masterpiece. I urge everyone to watch it and then tell your friends and loved ones about it.

I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who hasn't seen this yet. It's so good.

Yeah Babel was a very good film and those who appreciate quality cinema should check it out. It is set in 3 continents in 4+ different languages and focuses on 3 different stories and their inter-connection. Now originally it was to include more countries and some say one story was to be set in India with Shilpa Shetty and Mahima Chaudhury as sisters. I've heard something like Konkona sen-sharma was also to be in it. But anyway the director thought it was going to be too much to have so many countries represented and focused on 3 - Morocco, Mexico and Japan of 3 different continents.

Try not to miss this film and if you liked it check out the directors debut feature film - Amores Perros, which I thought was even better!

Forget the DVD. You should really check it out on the big screen, especially for the scenic shots of Morocco and the Tokyo skyline. Dunno where you are based, but it's still showing in the UK.

Well, after all positive/negative buzz, oscar buzz I saw the film..I was disappointed.
Film is hugely overated imho.

AG makes 3 cultural short stories, trying to weave them back and forth, slacking the main miserably.

I think this year academy went bizark with these mexican director!

If directing 3 diff cultures simelataneously makes a BEST FILM..then I can tell...????
