I hate when they do that. After hearing that it would be shown, I was looking forward to seeing the trailer for Eklavya before Lage Raho Munnabhai, as well; then I discovered that it was an "only-in-India" thing... .

They showed the trailer of EKLAVYA with SEI. Same old stuff that has been airing all over town for a while now.

Big B, Tabu and Paresh set to rock in CHEENI KUM

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By Joginder Tuteja, Bollywood Trade News Network

Majority of cinegoers who ventured in to watch SALAAM-E-ISHQ were in for a pleasant surprise. And that's because during the screening for the film, they were treated to a delightful promo of Big B's upcoming film CHEENI KUM.

A light hearted romantic tale about a 60 something chef played by Big B and a gorgeous woman who frequents his restaurant [Tabu], CHEENI KUM is certainly going to be one cinematic moment due to the sweet and salty incidents shown in a highly impressive promo.

A film that promises to keep a smile on your face throughout its duration, it has Paresh Rawal as Tabu's father. Especially hilarious is a scene when Big B asks Paresh for his daughter's hand for marriage. Watch it to believe it!

Shot in India and UK, the film is produced by Sunil Manchanda [co-producer of SALAAM-E-ISHQ] and also stars Zohra Sehgal in a key role.

Look forward to see Tabu pitched against B!

Paresh is always dependable! I liked him better than B in Aankhen!

The Web site doesn't seem to work quite properly: A tiny portion of the trailer loads; then, when I try to play it, that much plays, and is followed by a weird flowing red pattern (in the progress bar). Is anyone else having this problem?

I think, perhaps, it is loading, but doing so at an unbelievably slow pace... At least it's of good quality — :) .

Actually, every time I did that, the video loaded fully, but just sort of "froze" when it got to the point at which I'd paused it. Letting it load as it tried to play, then going back and watching the whole thing, is what seemed to do the trick. Anyway, it looks like it could be a pretty good film. As for comparisons with Nishabd (also starring Amitabh Bachchan; also about an older man and a younger woman), I think they're hardly to be made: Nishabd looks darker and more serious (hell, it is made my Ram Gopal Varma), while Nishabd appears to be a fairly interesting, light-hearted venture. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to both movies. 8)
