I don’t ever remember watching this film - but its one of those most asked for DVDs after MK and DDLJ. Well DDLJ is nearly here so JJWS takes the top slot of one of the most wanted titles. But haven’t a clue who got rights to this :(

JJWS is a exceptional film, I'm sure DEI will try for this film as they do read this site. I think spark have released a DVD version of this film, but will need to double cheak.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander is one of the better movies to come out of Bombay. In fact I would rate it easily in the top ten films from the '90s. Alas, it was the last really good movie from one of the more talented directors in Bollywood, Mansoor Khan.

Bad News..
Spoke with DEI and all the DVD rights of Nasir Hussian Productions are with EROS...and yes this includes JJWS. Rights won't run out for quite a while. EROS might release this DVD sometime next year.

I would not really term it as 'Plagiarised'. Maybe 'influenced' and that too, only with the basic concept and the climax scenes.

I stand corrected. To be precise, 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' was released in April of 1992. Age must be getting to me, :)how else could I have made that mistake. After all it was the first movie I watched after getting back to India from college in the US. I have edited my post to reflect the correction.

JJWS is one great movei and I am a big fan ever since I have seen it. Got a website too abou it. I am also actually a big fan of Mansoor Khan and have enjoyed every of his film. And I considered Josh one of his technically best films maybe it will not digest well with the audience but good nevertheless.
