I saw a trailer before Bend It Like Beckham at the cinema today that looks funny!

It's called The Guru so we have to keep an eye out for it. The guy who liked to go dancing (or was it the gay guy) from East is East is The Guru. It seems to be set in America and Heatehr Graham and Maria Tomei are in as well.

The trailer starts off with a blank screen with text about "one man"... then it shows him.... and baleh! all the goras and The Guru start dancing to an indian song!

Checked imdb.com not much info but there is a character called Proffessor Wank in it!

Woah. American/British-Indian flicks seem to be all the rage as of late. I wonder how long Indian culture will be viewed as trendy in the west.

They have two top billing actresses Marisa Tomei and Heather Graham with Jimi Mistry. I bet in the US it will flop and only be in the theaters for 1 week. Friday to Thursday night. In smaller markets, it probably won't see the light of day.

The story is of an Indian dance teacher (Jimi Mistry) who comes to the US for fame and fortune and instead is mistaken as guru of sex. He falls in love with Heather Graham who is a pornstar. Talk about stupid.

Yup. Its rated R for nudity and adult themes. I've seen Marisa Tomei nude in a couple of films and Heather Graham nude in "Boogie Nights", though she was pretty young then.
