Apparently Amitabh has won for best actor for BLACK & Sarika best actress for PARZANIA. Also Rahul Dholakia(same chap who director the utterly forgettable KEHTA HAI DIL BAAR BAAR) for Best Director for PARZANIA.

This is unofficial yet but most likely. Thanks to rbalkris1 I decided to add this rider :-)

Readon for more details.

Good for Amitabh, although I'm sure Rani's going to be absolutely crushed. This is the second time in a row where her lead co-star has won the National Award (the first being Saif last year for Hum Tum).

The choice for Buddhadev Dasgupta’s Kalpurush as Best Film is a big disappointment. I caught it last year at the Toronto film festival, and it was a gigantic bore.

Amitabh Bachchan has bagged the National Award for Best Actor for his memorable performance as the teacher of a blind, deaf, and mute girl in Black. This will be his third National Award after Saat Hindustani  and Agneepath.

I thought Amitabh won this award only once in past for Agneepath.

Adding to this, Suchitra Sen to receive Dadasaheb Phalke award.

This is not an official announcement. I will be wary until I see the official announcement. Lot of things can change in a months time.

I am quite sure he did not win any awards for Saat Hindustani, let alone the National Award. As for winning for 'Agneepath', probably his most over rated performance, was undeserving just as undeserving it is for Black. Uff.. the NAtional Awards just seem to get worst each year coming after the Saif Ali win for Hum Tum last year. What a farce.

agree, saif winning for hum tum last year was bad enough, but amit winning for black is an absolute joke. and yes agneepath also was a terrible performance

though parzania seems to be garnering acclaim, I am really interested in watching this. has anyone seen it??

I'm not sure about Black. To my knowledge, he's won only one National Award, and that for his performance (THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE ANYONE IN THE WORLD HAS EVER FUCKING GIVEN) in Agneepath.

Screaming always makes people right (well, it makes me [and not necessarily anyone else] right).

Did Mithun Chakrobarty even have any releases recently? I've always found him a strictly "OK" actor, and the last time I remember seeing him, was in Elaan.

Amitabh won his first National Award for Saat Hindustani. It was the Best newcomer award. Although in hindsight I am sure Amitabh was the Best new comer for that year, but whether the award was a deserving one is more than debatable. He surely did nto win the award on the basis of his perforamnce, rather it was due to his mother's political connections (Nehru/Gandhi family) which won him the award.

Code:
But Bachchan springs a surprise by revealing that he had actually won his first National award 37 years ago for his debut film Saat Hindustani (directed by K.A. Abbas). "I won the National award for best newcomer then," says Bachchan. "I vividly remember the ceremony was held in Chennai, then Madras. It was a practice then to hold the National awards functions in different cities. Mr Karunanidhi was Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister then and he gave me the award."

AB winning for Black is another joke like last years award. Mohan Lal should have gotten the award for his great performance in THANMATHRA and Udhayananu Thaaram (Both films are out on DVD, both has subtitles and must have for any movie lovers). I hope the court order will change all the announcements and will have a new jury.
