Well partially true!. The logo is not part of the original art work, but either DEI or some enterprising retailer placed a huge black label sticker with DEI written in gold on the front cover. I have a number of these and they were acquired from IW, IP and IBB a few years ago. To the best of my knowledge they are all originals! 
I picked up MAACHIS rental. DVD cover had DEI label on it. Not sure if the cover has DEI as author ?? The disc and its playback has EROS all over and no indication of DEI. Disc "made in Hong Kong and Dot Media" inscribed on the disc underlayer. Disc top says Made in US

Disc is Progressive and true 5.1 audio. It looks like DEI encoding.
BTW, opening adverts does have EROS, as well as, DEI sign at the end of the adverts.
Woner, if it's really original DEI code or original code replicated by EROS minus the DEI logo or ----- ??
