Instead of getting a "Dubbed" english soundtrack, I would rather have the film presented in a high avarage bit rate with its original 5.1 soundtrack only :) Quality is all that matters.

I agree, Quality is all that matters.
To get quality a break into English Language Market is essential. For this purpose, English Dub is a step in the right direction.

There are tons of Chinese, French, Mexican, ---- and other movies dubbed in English and are NOT FUNNY.
Yes, you need to do a proper dub. Essence of the dialogue needs to be translated, not the "word by word" translation as done by incompetent subtitle translators, used by Indian Film Makers.

Do you think Chinese or Japanese movies, that are more acceptable to the western audience, are better than Indian movies??

yeh we all know how reliable dei word is!! im glad for once that this dvd didn’t end up with dei vinod chopra seems a man who has high regards for quality, its witnessed in his films often and has won awrds of technical excellence & the amount of bullshittin dei do vinod chopra probably saw right through them! good for him :where:

i expect the quality to much better than lagaan dvd the running time is much shorter and even with a dual audio track should be very high quality product and i dont think they will dub the songs in english! and doesn’t look like a song menu either from the screen shot above! oh well cant have everything :tounge:

You think they will be foolish enough to dub the songs in english? Ever seen a Japanese movie dubbed in english?, curious lip movements badly out of sync. This will be comic. :baaa:

They'll really have to work on dubbing the track in English. I hope they don't use American or English accents and really screw it up royally.

It would be OK I guess, if the track had the actors speaking in an Indian accent, similar to the English track on CTHD dvd.

It depends on how the English dub is orchestrated. Normally dubs are very badly handled especially with Hong Kong films in the past. But recent releases of Jackie Chan films in the USA have been good with Jackie Chan himself providing the voice to re-dub his past films in English. Mission Kashmir English track is in 5.1, usually dubs in different languages are in mono - which at least tells that some time has been spent doing this. Would be nice if original leads have gone back and redone their parts in English – it’s not like they are incapable of speaking English!

It should be a pretty simple task for the actors to dub since they're used to dubbing in the studio later as it is with all Bollywood movies. The exception of course, being Lagaan

i cant really imagine a bollywood flick being re-done with an english sound track!! How would u literally change "tera kya hoga Kaalia!" will it be "What will happen with you now Blackie" :DD: As for english dubs, the Legend of Drunken Master uses Jackie Chans Original voice as a dub over and it really does make the character more life like!! i seen some dubs where they use some randy yank to voice over jackie chan and it looks so false.... that wud be a good idea to use the real actors to give a voice over for the flick.. but i doubt they do it, in case they cant pronounce certain word, ruining their suave image!!

Ringos was never a bargain (£18! ) - I only tried them because of their reputation for delivering DVDs before the release date - bang went that rep :where:

I think it’s either going to be DVDsoon or Absound.ca for me.
