Amazon.fr are taking ages to get this in stock, so I haven't received my copy yet. Looks promising from those screenshots, though - hopefully this is the original PAL master used for UTV's release (and not tampered with, as REM did).

yup thanks. look forward to!!

One thing for sure, PQ, will be better than UTV version as film is split, like CT R2 Lagaan and DTS is there for sure!!

Is the Bodega DVD the same as this version?

The better picture Bollywood seen in DVD. Bodega spoils the movie fans Indian with a transfet anamorphique of all beauty. While choosing for two discs, the editor wins sufficient the whole place to encode the picture in optimum conditions and the result is a visual régal of all the instants. Colors bursting, remarkable definition, particularly contrasts well supported, invisible compression… and cherry on the cake when one knows the difficulty to have clean masters (even for the recent films), practically no major defect on the picture (some rare spots or points here or there but nothing of this that one is used to have on films Bollywood).

guess so...

Aspect Ratio looks to be a whopping 2.66:1

No, that's the German release from Rapid Eye Movies. To be avoided! Bad sharpness, cranked-up contrast and missing frames.

It's the same ratio as the UTV release...

...and I hope that Bodega screenshot is not accurate, because the transfer looks the same as REM's. :?

Thanks to ali bhaii, and our dear friend Fred to provide us at his best earliest convenience.

I totally agree with a previous opinion here that contrast is way enhanced while UTV looks better as far contrast.

Fred claims that DTS soundtrack on this film is never heard before sound on a hindi dvd!! 8) Another one was MON SOON WEDDING.

Yep, for sure. UTV also has better sharpness I think, although that may just be down to edge enhancement. Comparing the French shots with the German DVD, I think Bodega's has slightly better colour rendition (less green) and less soft video than Rapid Eye's. Both have been squashed a little though in the framing compared with the UTV ratio.

Thanks for the shots, by the way. :)

Is the Bodega the one to get, then?

I guess it depends on what you pefer. If PAL/Progressive(?)/DTS over PAL-to-NTSC interlaced, then Bodega. If natural colour/contrast and good sharpness over cranked-up colour/contrast and soft picture, then UTV.

My personal preference would be the UTV DVD.

There's the dilemma. Maybe a fourth version will come out :D
