Just heard about 10 min of this Indian concert DVD and can confidently say that this is the best live show Indian DVD that I have seen so far. Audio, perhaps the best among all Indian DVDs. Believe me, it's mind boggling audio on this DVD. Video, I guess is as good as it gets for a 60 images per sec video (it's video, not film).

DVD/ concert is from a few yrs ago. Guess which one?? :P
(I'll name this DVD title on Monday, Dec 19).

Also, post your favourite Live Show DVD that has good concert audio.

I'm not familiar with or interested in any indian concert dvds, other than the recent ANDURM INDRUM ENDRUM concert in chennai.

crossing fingers in hopes that they shot it well, and captured the audio (not sure how this is done) adequately! :!:

just a wild guess Re: ARR live in concert :)

did the shah rukh/ kajol/ akshey kumar/ juhi concert (1998) ever make it to video/dvd that show was good esp the parts where srk and kajol performed together.

rana can u give the year of the concert? was it a world tour concert or one that was held only in india?

Well, to date I had seen many (All Indian) Awards functions videos, live shows videos, etc. All were like someone used a camcorder and made a VHS or a DVD of it. All so far (that I saw) were like filming in dark. But, this DVD that I rented, is professionally done. Just like what you see in most publicized Brittany Spears or Ricky Martin Concert and their subsequent DVDs. Content, as well as, quality of this DVD was a real pleasant surprise.

As, I started this thread as a quiz and in the guessing process, probably we'll find out other outstanding concert/ live shows DVDs, I wouldn't like to give too many hints.

As I said initially, it's an old release, it's on Gold media. And, we all very well know, how long has it been since Gold discs disappeared.

Is it Dream Girls Live Concert?

For me the best Indian Live Concert (5.1 Dolby surround sound) would have to be Aishwarya Rai’s outstanding mujra performance from songs ‘Umrao Jaan,’ 'Mughal E Azam’ and ‘Pahkeeza’ on the Dvd ‘Dream Girls Concert’ with live tabla and sitar players. Perfect sound on my Yamaha set on Concert Hall sound with the Surround is spectacular! Guys don't miss this one! A gem!

To all,
It'll be nice to give some more details of the DVD title (if you know).

Like (example):

Title Jaan Lewa Hits ( Eros )
Description 50 Hits of A.R. Rahman, Sukhwinder
Director
Brand/Distributor EROS/B4U

Thanks.

Keep the names coming. I'll try those DVD out as I find them.

The names of concerts suggested above sure have potential, but which DVDs (brands) are these that'll do justice to Concert audio and visuals??

Jagjit Singh concerts are usually well planned/ arranged for accoustics. But did the DVD capture do justice to the concert?? I saw one DVD on the trental shelf of Jagjit concert by T-Series. Having seen the quality of other T-Series products, I don't expect much. Still will try it out now.

Dream Girls, SRK, Amitabh, Hritik, Lata, Asha, RDBurman, Kishore etc. live shows/ concerts should be good. But which DVDs are they ON that did justice to the content?? The ones I've seen on DVD/ Videos have all been pirate quality.

ARR concerts are high energy. There are a number of DVDs of his concerts/ songs. EROS, Shemaroo, Video Sound, Other . Haven't seen Video Sound ARR concert DVD. Will try it out. I have seen two Shemaroo and EROS ARR DVDs that were film song compilations.

Dream Girl, Asha Live in Concert..Ehsas has been a couple of my favourite, but presentation are no way on par with Hollywood concerts.

I have seen AR concerts, VS version and RPG version..in Los Angeles is far superior sound/presentation

Was it in India ?

If not then....

Now or Never - Shahrukh, Ab, Sanjay Dut. Hrithik, Rani, Sushmita, Shilpa, Kareena, Preity, Karishma. It was in 2003 I think. Live in Africa.

Well, I found this DVD's content, as well as, presentation remarkable. There may very well be other Indian Concert/ live show DVDs as good, but I haven't seen any that even comes close. Searching for other concert. live show DVDs, I found many listed with e-tailers, some of which may be as good. But, I doubt it.
