LIKE OH MY GOD!!!!! That's right!! A SEQUEL!! with Nagarjuna & Ilaiyaraaja!!! *DROOL* Commando, PLEASE stay out of this thread man. else, I might just have to kill you one day, Factory style 8) j/k

7th December 2005

Ramu's Siva 2006 with Nagarjuna
Ram Gopal Varma is planning to make a film titled 'Siva 2006' with Nagarjuna as hero. This comes as sequel to the wonderful film Siva. If Nagarjuna played the role of college student in Siva, he would be playing a cop in Siva 2006. Ilayaraja has agreed to score music for this film. The rest of cast is going to be different from Siva. This film would be launched and released in the year 2006.

awesome news! thanks for the link yuvan dude

this is ramu’s third bilingual in recent times - first w/ mwm/mh, then shock and now w/ shiv - I am really glad he is making telugu films again

just wish it was someone other than mohit in the hindi version

though I think ramu might actually direct this, as he is also directing the hindi

and the fact that nag is producing, and ilayaraja is doing the music - also suggests that ramu is going to direct this

I doubt nag and ilayaraja would agree to work on this project if it was w/ some no name ramu camp director

though I don’t think I am as excited abt ilayaraja (or any music director) working on this - I thought ramu evolved out of his song and dance films

well, there is still hope that the hindi will be songless

yeah, I fjear that the remake of James might be the sequel to Shiva  I just feel that if he is going to make a sequel to his firm film, it should be something special.

some of us still haven't evolved ;) I'm glad a film like Satya did indeed have songs as they added to the charm of the film! Moreover, it's Ilaiyaraaja :!: :!:

Have you seen other recent Nagarjuna films? :? He looks like the type that will work with others. He produced a film called MASS with a popular telugu/tamil choreographer. not a very good film. it's become a MASSive hit, yet it's nowhere as good as a film like James.

If he is directing the Hindi version, and someone else the Telugu version, lets hope the Hindi version doesn't have song/dance sequences, with Ilaiyaraaja atleast. RGV said he will not be directing any more telugu films. but he might be turning back to telugu films with a big star like Nagarjuna because of the $$ it will bring in after his many b.o. flops!

this is a great news. While I dont like RGV in particular (except Shiva ofcourse), RGV-IR combo has always been successful and "demanding". hope this will bring some new music to our ears.

I hear what you are saying yuvan

but it just seems to me that first - ramu had assembled both nag and ilayaraja

and on top of that, he is calling this his sequel to shiva

all these things definitely make this, like you said, a special project

and since it is his ‘special project’, it seems only fitting that he would direct

not to mention he has already said he will direct the hindi version

but anyways, I am probably wrong…. and next week we will likely find out some no name guy will be the director for this :)

you got me here, I did luv vishal’s songs in satya… as much as I hate to admit it

maybe I am not as evolved as I originally thought

Very sad. I saw her in the Hero's project in SunTV and still she looked how she appeared 10 (15?) years back. Very cute and slim. Rajni missed an opportunity and Nagarjun jumped right on the spot 8)

DU, how many projects have IR & RGV worked together for? just 2 right? maybe even only one?

No Amala? Shiva probably dumped his college sweetheart for another woman, either that or she is violently murdered.

Ugh, who in their right mind that looks as hot was Amala want to marry somone like Rajnikanth? I guess Amala is hot enough for Nagarjuna to leave his first wife :? she looks better than MOST of the current lot of "heroines" same is the case with Sri Devi.

also, did IR compose the background music for the short clippings they had during the Heros show? you know how they shifted over to play video clippings?

If you think IR's strength lies in "song and dance" then you are in for a treat - IR is known for his BGMs ( Background music a.k.a score for a film) ..., Hey Ram springs to my mind right away ( along with numerous films - too many to list ).

Looking forward to his collaboration with RGV ( hi - i dont hate him, its just that i dont love him @ the same level that some of you guys do ;) )

heh. i forgot all about the BGM aspect. yes, it's true, he excells in BGM as well, but only problem is that the BGM's aren't readily available for listening as they are not featured on their respective albums :( sometimes I try to rip from the dvds in desperation.

be good for the film!

Shiva & Kshana Kshanam to my knowledge, but may be more. I want IR to work with some decent directors if not worst. Thats why I am expecting this movie. Also when IR score for big artists, the music usually is good, so I am talking from IR fan perspective.

dvdisoil

any luck with guru cd? I am trying hard but couldnt get any leads. There is this company called Thomsum (sounds wierd) who has the copyright, but they went out of business few years before it seems, so my only hope is any malayalam carrying store who has some stock with out their knowledge

Boy, you sure are complementing Keeravani :) You are a kind man DU.

Kshana Kshanam is by M.M. K.

To my knowledge, the only movie that Ilaiyaraaja & RGV worked together on is Shiva. He hardly uses an MD more than once, with the exception of Sandeep Chowtha. Rahman, he used twice.

PS- I'll be on the look out for Guru (Malayalam) CD!

I've heard of a store around here that carries Malayalam CDs, so I'll check there one of these days. I don't know what kind of selection they have, since I've never been there.
