I am not particularly targeting him. But it general always bringing in comparison and criticising a whole group of films in threads which are not on that subject doesnt serve anyone's purpose. It just make our user experience at this site a whole lot worse.

And its intolerable when those comments are made on incorrect facts. You have to remember that many of our opinions are influenced by us. So we like to see crappy indian films compared to crappy non-indian films. Similarly I would see crappy south indian films compared to crappy hindi films. So let us discuss the film itself and not bring in comparisons.

I will not enter into the argument about hindi film music being worse than any BGrade south indian music. I consider that factually wrong. While yes I do listen more to south indian music, I dont see south indian music being that much better than hindi films. Lets just stop comparing and stop butting into threads with irrelevant comments

I think there is a FAIR BILL OF RIGHTS FOR FREE SPEECH, even CRITICISM! whoever can not take it should mind his own buisness!

I do not think, all these film makers, like VVC, RGV, YRF, JOHARS, Priya, Bhansali, Ghai are GODS! These guys are all crooks if you ask me.
Biggest of all Sanjay F* Gupta!

If some one likes films from one house better than other, one style better than other, he has all right to do so, and vice versa could not be denied either.

So, trying to chew other peoples heads off whoever are not on your side or not share your views is not a valid approach imho.

All, remake, and remake of remakes!South or North!!

Thanks for your review of GM, Sknath! 8) Good to read an unbiased well-constructed review that doesn’t compare every Hindi movie to Tamil movies or unfairly label majority of Hindi movies inferior to Tamil movies. Looks like above comment is by one who hasn’t even seen GM, giving no information about details of GM story/plot/characters, and impulsively mentioned GM to make a name for oneself.

careful Rita-ji , to think DU is doing it for "making a name for oneself" is a very 'impulsive' statement in itself, prob he got carried-away in the comparison but he did it because he "loves" cinema not because he wants to make a name for himself , i am sure ZULM will be the last option he will try to make a name for himself

Wow i guess we @ zulm (including myself) need to chill-out a little.

Diwali Releases III - 'Garam Masala' Holds On Monday

Monday is the most dreaded day in film business. For, it is the fateful Monday that decides which way the pendulum swings. While the business of most films registers a sharp decline from Monday onwards, there are exceptions like NO ENTRY and SALAAM | NAMASTE which remained strong on weekdays at most movieplexes.

After a 5-day weekend, two of the three Diwali releases opened to a somber start on Monday. While GARAM MASALA continues to lead [50% +] collections, SHAADI NO. 1 has slipped considerably, while the verdict on KYON KI… is more than evident.

Incidentally, GARAM MASALA continues to have a dream run at most places and can easily be labeled a 'Hit', SHAADI NO. 1 is decent at some single screens.

Strange! In comparison ( there goes the word of contention ) to his comment as oppsed to the original complaint, I totally agree with arsh. Don't loose sight of the fact that zulm is an outlet for us to express our views in whatever format we choose respecting the boundaries of civility, after all it is one's opinion and if anyone disagrees, he or she is free to post their their own opposing views. DU you shouldn't have to stiffle your comments on any member's say so, if your comments are offensive or off the wall and does not address the issue on hand we have an Adminstrator and a moderator to step in, let them do their job.

I agree with you as far as any reasonable views are concerned. However making blanket statements while not being able to back them and making irrelevant comments in all threads does not count.

As you just said, I didnt ask anyone to stop posting, just pointed out that the posts were bordering on the offensive.

As they here in the states, its better to monitor urself rather than get the heavy handed moderator (ali fits this description  ) to step in. We are not talking about the rules here but the spirit.

Oh brother! thats the whole issue here! It's done on a consistent basis on every thread, so why single out anyone person for chastisement? Don't take the fun away, take pot shots or poke holes in the inaccuracies if you must within reasons!

Wasn't meant to be directed at you! Just a general statement!
