I hate him.

why do you guys hate him? just curious. I liked his "Kushi" - the telugu version (Pavan > Vijay/Fardeen, Bhoomika > Jyothika, Mani Sharma > Deva/Anu Malik)

I heard Vaali is pretty good as well. Like the album lots!! I only hear bad things about his other films though, hehe

Dude, i don't know about Pavan > Vijay because I don't know the language. But there is no freaking way Bhoomika > Jyothika in this film....no way. And I do like bhoomika.

I hate sJS as an actor....as a director he is fine.

vaali was an allright film. first half good fun. songs r cool....probably lifted.

as actor, understood.

as for bhoomika & jyothika, to me (and millions of other indian men) they are there for eye candy. I think bhoomika looks better, and neither one of them can act to save their lives. :) they all look ugly IRL (in real life) including kareena kapoor.

I hated Pavan Kalyan in several movies, but they were mostly due to story/crew. He's got some weird charm that even Vijay posses, BUT as queer as this might sound, Pavan is more pleasing to watch. Fardeen can't act for shit. Good thing he isn't popular, nor does he have a strong backing like Abhishek who is constantly criticized.

Jyothika did act welll and look well in Kushi. I don't see Bhoomika having the same expressions or anything close to it.

I dont understand telugu though...so I think Vijay comedy was good in Kushi tam version.

BTW, nice Avatar ;) someone who we all can appreciate. One of his better movies is a Telugu film with the late Soundarya. It's titled "9 Nelalu". There is a watchable DVD of it, but it doesn't have subs. It's an off-beat film, without songs. Vikram and Soundarya were both fantastic.

I agree most of the Indian 'hot' actresses look ugly in real life with the racoon eyes and what not. Some of them shouldn't even leave their houses with out make up. Seeing how they really look is a shock to the system.

I just started getting into Telugu movies. I like Pavan Kalyan. I watched Gudumba Shanker and BALU ABCDEGGSG.. He is like a grown man with A.D.D. I thought Gudumba Shanker was too long. Balu was entertaining but also needs a lot of editing.

Isai

Genre: Thriller

Tagline: You think you know everything but what happens when you don't?

it must be a comedy then. "what happens when you don't?" - you look like a fool, is what happens.

Pavan Kalyan was great in Gudumba Shankar. One is his best movies. I thoroughly enjoyed the film, contrary to popular perception of the film. The DVD by KAD is also pretty good! well worth the money, IMHO!

Aa Aah has extra features including audio launch function where ARR, Shankar, Vijay, Vivek, Vaali and many other speak.

This is the function where Vivek speak something bad about IR (IR may have changed the trend in 19th century, but ARR is the one who brought 20th century music in 19th) clarify" it differently later by saying that he is a great IR fan.

I am surprized that VGP did a reasonably fair job compared to Ayngaran.

More (bad?) news. Gajni will be released by VGP also.

The sad part is it is 400 Rs in India, but when it comes to US it is 14 bucks. Not good.

Vivek is an idiot. I don't know if it you (DU) that made a mistake or that idiot Vivek ;p, but we are in the 21st century now. IR was never a part of the 19th century. IR and ARR are both part of the 20th and 21st centuries. I didn't quite understand your post, it makes no sense ;p

Anyway, IR > ALL. As abstract as his music is, it still sounds natural and pleasing to the ear. ARR, I liked him best when he was simple and not trying to be abstract (which is what he is trying to do of late). ARR music will always be synthetic to me.

The clear difference between IR & ARR in terms of popularity is that ARR's "peak" was at a time when technological enhancements were at their peak (Internet in every home, sattelite channels, etc).

Bramhanandam > Vivek. :P

I think Vivek meant well and it probably "slipped" out of him - in all the interviews i have read/seen Vivek holds IR at a very high esteem , from my understanding he thinks IR is to music as Balachander is to direction and if you know/followed Vivek you know that to be the truth ( balachander introduced vivek to tamil films)

I seriously think it was a "thinking something and saying something scenario" - to err is afterall human

you are right, he said IR was 20th century and ARR for 21st century. Yes, in many places I have seen vivek holding IR at high, but just this one, where he really sliped his tounge and mind

Why bring up IR at all in the function? Everything is turned into a competition. Sivaji vs. MGR, Kamal vs. Rajini, IR vs. ARR, etc. No need to denigrate one to uplift the other. Maybe someone should remind him that Vadivelu is more popular these days :D

What I like about ARR is that he is willing to take leaps in his music. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but its great to hear when it works.

Some of ARR's music sounds synthetic, true. Did you listen to ONOK? It is no Mumbai Xpress in terms of "natural vs. synthetic."

I know someone would say that. KR needs to find a job for himself, so IR can go back to natural.

I am looking forward to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star BGM (the songs didnt impress me because of Anjali hangover), since IR had a pressmeet yesterday to introduce the Hungarian musicians to our press and to announce that BGM will be released seperately!

Also a friend of mine said Kasturimaan turned out very well (he mentioned it has IR's 80s feel), but the trailor I saw in SunTV had more Jazz/synth feel. Looking forward to it, just like any other IR album.

BTW I started learning music just to understand what IR is all about! May be a waste of time, but I am giving it a shot.
