Currently listening to Anveshana at raaga.com. Very good album. It must be ripped from a VCD, as the voices are a bit high pitched.

I watched Sitara. I dont know what Pav meant by strange, but I see him as Telugu KB. The subjects that he has taken are probably lot like what KB has taken in 80s (Awargal, Aval Oru Thodargathai type). A bit of discrimination of / male domination against female. The movie was excellent, typical IR's 80s song. Watching the songs in the movie is like watching the niagara water fall (or kuttralam WF), because the situation, song, the music that blends with the song, dont make you feel like you are watching a song in a movie, but feels like its part of the movie. I should applaude both Vamsi and IR for this. I shall watch more of Vamsi' movie.

I have an old tape of Tamil songs, and most of them sound like IR's work. I don't know what movie some of the songs are from. If I posted samples, would you guys be able to identify the movies?

I will try my best. I have about 200 or more wiered IR songs, which are totally unpopulare, but has very great interludes and preludes, which can be used to compose songs easily, so I will add to my collection.

Songs are pretty bad, but the orchestra is very good.

Sample 6 turned out to be Malligai Poo Poothirukku from Thaimel Aanai, by Shankar-Ganesh and not IR. I am now doubting if 2 and 5 are IR songs. Do they sound like his work to you?

Songs def sond illayara-ish ( though in the 80's i guess that really means nothing !)
