The songs from Indian are OAR anamorphic, unlike the DVD of the film. Does this mean that a new DVD is coming?

Ayngaran re-released Indian as an OAR anamorphic, progressive DVD quite a while ago now (with a fair bit of edge enhancement added). The subtitles were also re-done, although the translation is even worse than the original, I reckon.

Subtle differences. The new cover is more yellowish, has a black rectangle behind "Indian," is missing ARR's picture. Ayngaran should differentiate between versions more drastically.

The cover on mine (the new release) is the same as the gold cover. I think the yellow one was an unfinished pic just used on Ayngaran's site.

I have seen both the copies. I will check if there are any differences. The smaller one also seems to have a DTS sound track and thats possibly why lot of retailers done carry.

My pick is Mayavi (I am not including MX because I am kamal fan!). Its a good movie, but didnt do well in theatre. they extended the Simran dance idea from pithamagan and made a full movie. Surya's performance is great.

now that vijay is considered next rajni, Surya would definitely be competing with Vikram for "kamal's" spot.

Ah here we go again - the vicious cycle of self sustaining Tamil (Indian?) star system .

MGR/Sivaji
Kamal/Rajini
Vijay/Ajit <--> Vijay/Surya <--> Vijay/Vikram

Its really hurting us more than helping us !

Considering how many actors there are these days I don't think Tamil movies will be dominated by two magnetic actors, a mass hero and a class hero, anymore. Rather, there will be various actors who are popular in each category and some of whom will shift between the two.

I honestly dont have time to post in other threads other than TIS, but with out mentioning this, my head will blow.

Sachin DVD is released
I watched the movie yesterday. All aspirant directors must watch this movie. This will EXACTLY tell you what a movie should not be. The director didnt think about anything. The only good think in this movie is Vijay (hard to accept, but he has a charm) and Vadivelu (B/C grade comedy). The most irritating thing was that the story is happening in some hill station and they wanted to bring "Idhayaththai Thirudathye" effect, but what a shame. They probably took the movie in Chennai at 100'C or in some set, but they tried to create the fog to get "ooty" effect and what a pity. Instead of fog, you could see "smoke" that too only for Vijay. The rest of them wont have "smoke". Vijay will be walking in his house and the "smoke" will follow him.

Director: If you read this - Shame Shame Puppy Shame!

That’s the funniest post I have read on zulm . <-- i like this emoticon :D

Don’t ask me why , but I was dragged into a theater in madras to see Sachin and came out with a headache. This film had a very interesting scene that stuck with me - Vijay meats a young kid ( briefly for 2 mins maybe as part of a song) and towards the end of the film for no apparent reason the director decides to kill the kid ( heart disease) to portray a soft side of vijay -- Now that’s dark comedy for you :P

Should I rent the VGP version?

I saw sachin and its nice if you like a little romantic angle. Its a paler version of kushi. Overall not a horrible movie or anything..timepass.
