Remember a while ago Karan Johar had announced he was scripting his next movie which was set to be a thriller

Well once again just like his Chum aditya chopra who did the same thing post DDLJ he has scrapped the plans as he is scared that a subject he belives in may not be commercially viable

Instead Karan will once again be bringing you another glamarised designer movie on a a lavish scale...
The movie will satr SRK , Saif ali khan and the Kapoor sisters

Well all i can say to you Karan is how wrong can you be..
His gandoo chums father made a hit out of thriller Ittefaq and Chums uncle made Dhund and Kannon

Not to forget a thriller is the big thing in the current climate with the biggest money spinner so far of 2002 being a thriller Raaz

U know Hate la!! I think u are right, I had doubts abt Karan's "S"orientation from the very begining! Now it is proven, that he is a REAL!!? :vsneaky:

The reason DOBU Karan backed out is simple.... he is not sure how to write a thriller. I give him props for his romance and all but thriller is not easy.... 1 needs to be able keep the audience interested thru out... in india every1 is sterotyped karan and aditya make love flicks...

Where did you hear this from? Because according to many reccent Karan Johar interviews. It seems that Dharma Production's next looks to be a thriller.

As per Karan Johar, he was planning his next, to be directed by his assistant, to be a thriller. But due to some injury to Shahrukh because of which he cannot do action scenes, they have decided to do a romantic film.

Yup! I guess this news is true after all, Komal Natha himself confirmed it on BBC filmi duniya yesterday. It's sad that they had to make changes to fit the needs of Shah Rukh Khan. If they really wanted to make a thriller, they should have either casted a new cast or should have put this project on hold till srK redeems himself if they wanted him that desperately. It would have been wonderful if this project really turned out to be a thriller, because I've heard that Anurag Kashyap was recomended to help write the script if the thriller idea was strongly implemented. It's real sad that it went back to the old repetitive idea (unless if we see something like DCH out of it, but what are the chances of that happening???)
