There have been talks of Shah Rukh signing many new projects but most of the talks turned out to be mere rumours , so we decided to wait for a reliable source to confirm and than talk about this one .

It seems like Farhan Akhtar´s next will be the remake of Amitabh starrer ´Don´ . Scripted by Farhan´s father Javed Akhtar , alongwith his then writing partner , Salim Khan (Father of Salman Khan) .

The remake will star Shah Rukh Khan in the title role . Farhan and his partner in production , Ritesh Sidhwani , have actually purchased the remaking rights of the seventies blockbuster from its producer .



^What a pitty, just 2 film old farhan is already bankrupt of creativity and ready to join, johar, chopra, bhatt camp of shameless remakes to churn big moulah!
using SRK as life line!!!what a pitty!!SRK playing AB..give me a break, I guess, Ajay and SRK will play even a KUTTA for money and camp.

Priyanka opposite SRK in' Don' remake

Priyanka Chopra is flying high!
If the grapevine is to be believed, Priyanka Chopra (and not Sushmita Sen, as was being speculated by a section of the media) will star opposite SRK in Farhan Akhtar's remake of the 1978 Amitabh-Zeenat starrer 'Don'. A formal announcement is in the offing. Priyanka will be essaying the original role of Zeenat Aman.

According to the film's business manager Chand Mishra, "Priyanka Chopra will be opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the remake and Farhan Akhtar will make a few changes in the script, keeping the changed tastes of today's audiences."

I agree

this is pathetic..

Don is not such a classic film that it can't be remade. It could turn out to be a fun film. However, Farhan is doing a remake for his THIRD film, and that too something his father co-wrote. He is learning the ways of BW pretty quickly

It will be pathetic, at best. You needed a Salim (Khan) to compliment Javed (Akhtar) to give us such dialogues as :-

"Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hain"
"Don zakhmee hai toh kya fir bhi Don hi hai"
"Yeh ladki junglee bill ki tez aur furtelee hai, aur mujhe junglee billiyan pasand hai" ...

They knew how to use metaphors....

If they want to remake it, it should be along the lines of Shaft !... (Sameul L Jackson and the original Shaft in the same new film)..but Priyanka Chopra for Zeenat Aman ...YUCK

Am I being too optimistic by interpreting the reports to mean that Farhan Akhtar is only producing the movie and not directing it?
