Is this Dus a totally new movie?;

http://www.indiafm.com/scoop/05/apr/0604dus/index.shtml

...or does it have any relevance to uncompleted last work of late great Mukal S. Anand which was going to star Sunjay Dutt and Salman Khan?

Ali :?

Unfortunately it's only relevance is the producer Nitin Manmohan (who was co-producing the original with Mukul and Sunil Manchanda).

After Mukul's death, Nitin Manmohan was unable to undertake the completion of Dus. He roped in David Dhawan who admittedly did not understand Mukul's vision, and suggested re-writing the script as a comedy and using some of Mukul's footage.

Mukul's widow (Anita) objected to re-writing Dus and suggested releasing the music to recoup some of the costs. David Dhawan and Nitin Manmohan used the cast (Sanjay & Salman) to make the comedy-flick 'Chal Mere Bhai'.

Nitin Manmohan retained the title "Dus" and recently decided to make a new movie of this title with director Anubhav Sinha (Tum Bin).

Although Mukul's company MAD (Mukul Anand Directs) is still run by Anita Anand, they are only focussing on ad-films, and it appears that the original footage for Dus will be lost forever.

Dus was the First Film where Shankar (ehsaan - loy) had sung title song which was popular and made his carreer.

That movie first has location problems, than money problem and many more..

I was really looking forward to that movie. Looked quite interesting.

Stupid Idea .. Only from David Dhawan! If that had happened I would have suggested everyone not to watch the movie at all.

Dus was one movie that I was anxiously waiting for but after the death of Mukul Anand I am happy that no one else took over the directorial reigns. It would definetly not have been the same.

The producer, Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty are the only originals from the first Dus. I believe this flick also stars Pak star Javed Sheikh.
