I saw Thirupachi and had to stop it after 30 mins . It sucked big time..., stay far away from it.
However that said I did watch Kadhal recently and was emotionally blown away by this movie. Not since Seethu have I felt like this. This comes highly recommended ( esp. who can speak and understand Tamil without subtitle). I got to say that this films comes as a breath of fresh air (finally !) to Tamil Films with a love story at its core. Though the story is your typical rich girl/poor guy fable the way it comes across at your face and in to your heart is fresh and devastating ( all at the same time). From start to finish the use of Madurai landscape, its people ( dark, ugly, vibrant, - spot on casting) and its dialect flows freely. I came to know that this film is based on a true story ..., all the more reason to love the film and comprehend the downward spiral the film takes towards the ‘climax’. This is Shankar's first production and i am starting to love his taste-in-films . Good sensible start to the year, hoping to see at least a few more good releases this year. Thumps Way Up ...., Bravo .
