'Swades' on Dec. 3, 'Kisna' on Dec. 24?

By Taran Adarsh, September 02nd, 2004 - 1130 hrs IST

Just last week, we informed you of the clash of the mighty three -- Subhash Ghai's KISNA, Ashutosh Gowariker's SWADES and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's BLACK -- in December this year.

While the producers of BLACK have officially announced the release date [December 10], the producers of KISNA and SWADES have yet to shed light on the date of release.

However, a trustworthy source has informed this writer that UTV is planning to release SWADES in December for sure, and the date could be December 3, in all probability. A clearer picture should emerge in a few days from now.

As for KISNA, there is talk that the film has been shifted to January next year. But that's completely untrue! Ghai has scheduled the film for December 24, during the Christmas week. “KISNA is 99% confirmed on this date,” Ghai informs me.

After a pause, the showman throws light on the release schedule of KISNA. “I have already completed shooting the film; it's now on the editing table. But I don't want to hurry up on its post-production. I have decided to release both the versions of KISNA [Hindi and English] simultaneously across the globe.”

But the two versions of KISNA will be different in the sense that the Hindi version will be of 3 hours duration, with 7 songs, while the English version would be of 2.15 hours duration, with just 3/4 songs, Ghai adds.

8** I hope UTV will do DVD of SWADES and hopefuly, BETTER than LAKSHYA! I wish film should be more interesting than Lakshya too!!

Re Kisna!! Will Sush comeo and Music will be enough for GHAII to survive this time? IMHO..NO!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
