ok just had the "dis-privlege" to watch this pile of crap at the cinema.. have to say though it has to be one of the worst ever movies I have ever seen.. awful storyline, awful acting, and most of all annoying dialogues which dont even make sense... seriously, u have to be on smack or suffering from dementia to enjoy this... David Dhawan has to be the worst director in the world, and this movie is a prime example...

Save your money and stay at home and watch coronation street...
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL MOVIE... It was torture....

faddy are u joking???? the songs alone make it worth a watch... and also Akshay Kumar's devilish performance!!

i personally loved the film and found it to be much better than most David Dhawan's films since Deewana Mastana. However this is still not as good as Masti.

Fun for all in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi
SUBHASH K JHA

IANS[ FRIDAY, JULY 30, 2004 09:08:23 PM ]

Film : Mujhse Shaadi Karogi

Starring : Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Amrish Puri, Kader Khan, Rajpal Yadav and Shashikala

Director : David Dhawan.

What a brat! In a key action sequence in this sprightly dip into blunder-land, Salman Khan fights five-six Akshay Kumars simultaneously.

That, in a naughty-shell, is the coolly comic crux of the Akshay-Salman combination. Though Salman as Samir ( Hawaa ka jhonka (gust of wind), exclaims a priest, reminding us of Salman's presence in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam ) gives a controlled and often, inspired performance as the beefy nerd who always seems to get his foot in his mouth, it's Akshay Kumar who is all over the place.

As Sunny - like the mouse in the Tom and Jerry show - in Salman's life, he brings a bracing cartoon-strip quality to the duel between the two leading men. As they battle for the hand of the damsel in disdress (distress is old hat now) we get to witness one of the wackiest comic triangles in recent times.

Spend it like Sajid (Nadiadwala, The producer). Never has been a comedy so full of gloss and luster. Star power, powerful guest (appearance) list, Sharmishtha Roy’s imaginative sets or the extravagant climax scene…the film ‘has it’.

If you think Devdas was the ultimate ‘born loser’, think again - Salman passes all litmus tests to prove that. A girl friend who ditches him - another girl (Priyanka) to whom he cannot confess love and all that jazz...because God and the screenplay writer constantly conspire against him. If it wasn’t sufficient, David Dhawan brings a rakeeb in the form of Akshay Kumar. What follows is a laugh-athon. Don’t blame it if it looks like a bag of claptrap gags since, in the long run, it entertains.

The climax however is a hiccup, since it reduces the intensity of the built-up, the entire script banks on. But, with the kind of guest appearances, we get to see at this juncture, all is probably forgotten. Also, why Akshay Kumar cheats Kader Khan becomes nonsensical.

Salman is as good-looking as a Greek god (all those seasonal flavours as poster boys look like kindergarten stuff compared to him)and is cool, calm, casual and composed even during comedy. And yeah, he is indispensable for MSK. Akshay is in elements and has his comic timing more genteel than it was in Hera Pheri. Priyanka is the right choice as Rani. Acting, comedy, emotions and looks… she is just ooh-la-la! The script over-powers the dialogues, which could have been more hilarious. Farah as usual is first rate in choreography. Music is okay, but lyrics are eh...er...forget it. Editing is crisp.

Thanks to David Dhawan for finally getting his ‘touch’ back and for giving a film that would be beyond the excuses of being a ‘multiplex’ one or a ‘B-centre’ one or so on...Thanks, we have our first non-vulgar full-too comedy to grace the monsoon... watch it and enjoy, if you are not expecting a The Gold Rush or even a Bruce Almighty.
