I recently read an article about how the music for the Malayalam film 4 the People was very popular, so I listened to the songs and they are fresh and interesting. The music director Jassie Gift also did the music for Rain Rain Come Again, for which the music was released before the movie itself. I think that one is a little better than 4 the People.

4 The Students` ready for release!
By Moviebuzz

Friday, 09 July , 2004, 10:37

The Malayalam film that created waves all over Kerala, 4 The People is being dubbed and released in Tamil as 4 The Students. It was a film with an all new star cast and stylishly shot with foot tapping numbers tuned by a debutant music director, Jassie Gift.

Jassie Gift had become a sensation overnight and the reggae and Kerala folk mixed song Lajjavathiye…Lajjavathiye… composed and sung by him was on everybody’s lips. Now in the Tamil version also Jassie has rendered the songs in his own voice.

4 The Students is produced by Johnny Sagarika the original distributors of the film in Kerala. The lead cast has Bharat (Boys fame), Gopika (Autograph fame), Arun, Arjun, Pranati and Padmakumar. The film is directed by Jayaraj who had made some memorable off-beat films in Malayalam.

Nope, not yet. It'd be awesome if Ayngaran makes the dvd with both Tamil and Malayalam 5.1.

can't believe you people wanted to watch this film. This movie is one of the stupidest malayalam film ever came out. This movie escaped because of the song 'LAJJAVATHIYE'. I saw the film, and it was the longest 2 hrs of torture from a malayalam movie. Songs doesnt even put together to the story, couple of songs just to get away from the stupid movie. thats all.

Please don't buy the movie and waste your money. Just down load the song and listen.

Rain Rain…` refused censor certificate!
By Moviebuzz
Friday, 06 August , 2004, 09:02
The Tiruvananthapuram Regional Censor Board has refused censor certificate to Jayaraj’s Rain Rain, Come Again due to “excessive violence” and has referred the film to the revising committee.

This has created shock waves in the industry as the film was slated for release today. The distributors and exhibitors are in a state of shock and claim that Jayaraj’s earlier film 4 The people had more violence an close-up’s of hands and legs being chopped off which was passed by the same censors!

Now the big question is whether censors are clamping down on violence? Then Mohanlal’s Natturajavu and Pritviraj’s Satyam, both action oriented films due for Onam are in deep trouble.

Meanwhile Jayaraj and his distributors are running from pillar to post to get the film passed by revising committee on Saturday so that it can be released on Sunday.

I like 4 the people soundtrack a lot. Rain Rain go away wasn't that good IMO. His next album Decemeber is out, and some of the songs were good.

By the way guys, listen to harris jeyraj's chellame album. It has some unique songs. :)

Jayaraj lashes out at Censors!
By Moviebuzz

Monday, 09 August , 2004, 09:58
Finally Jayaraj’s Rain, Rain, Come Again was seen by revising committee of the Tiruvananthapuram censors and cleared with a clean “U” certificate and the film was released on Sunday (August 8 ).

It raised many pertinent questions - Why did the censors refuse to give a certificate to a film which was later seen by revising committee and issued a ‘U’ certificate? The buzz is that two lady members of the censor board walked out half way and objected to a gang of students going to a discotheque and sipping beer! Their argument was that this was not a part of Kerala culture and may mislead the youth!!

Jayaraj lashed out saying that most of the films passed by the same censors had excessive violence and sex and questioned as to why his film was targeted? Jayaraj spoke to Sify.com: “I am shocked at the censor’s double standards! My film could not be released on August 5th and who will pay for the loss that I incurred on the opening weekend collections. We lost nearly Rs 15- 20 Lakhs due to this delay in release."
