With CAT WOMAN deal uncertain, I-Max corporation is talking to Spiderman 2 producers to bring out I-Max format prints of Spiderman-2. Mid July is the earliest I-Max prints will be ready.

Spiderman 2 on the BIG Screen

According to Coming Soon, the next chapter in the Spiderman saga will be formatted for IMAX theaters before the end of next month. Reportedly, three to four weeks after the June 30 premiere, will begin playing on IMAX DMR screens. The release date depends upon how quickly Sony can strike prints of the film and get them shipped to theaters.

There is a difference between 35mm prints screened on to I-Max size screen (35mm x 24 fps), as being done currently, and I-Max prints screened on to I-Max screen (70mm x 48 fps; even better if transverse frames) even if I-Max prints are blown up to I-Max format from the 35 mm print.
