Amir is playing spoilsport for a spoof on his sporty film , ´Lagaan´ . Sahara which set out to make a series of spoofs on classics like ´Lagaan´ , ´Devdaas´ etc. , were in for a rude shock when ´Lagaan´ producer Aamir Khan refused to give them a no objection certificate for releasing a take-off on his Oscar-nominated hit .

The spoof , called ´Thakaan´ was the first of several films to be shot by Subrata Roy´s production company . It stars Johny Lever in Amir Khan´s role as the main protagonist . In fact the entire series is being advertised as ´Johny Lever´s tributes to the classics ´ .

While Bharat Shah , the producer of ´Devdas´ was sporting enough to grant permission for Sahara´s rip-off on his film , titled ´Bevadadas´ , Aamir is still dilly-dallying , and so , even as ´Thakaan´ is gathering dust in the godowns , ´Bevadadas´ starring Johny Lever in the title role and Jaspal Bhatti as Chinilal , will soon see the light of the day .

I hope none of these films ever see the light of day. The world is not ready for Johny Lever doing title roles.

I can understand by Khan wouldn't want any comical parodies to Lagaan. It's a very important film on a professional level, and it would only undermine its lesson.

Johnny Lever shouldn't even be in films, he totally wrecked
Asoka - there was no need for his character and I don't know why the director had him do a comedy scene in Asoka, which would have otherwise been better without him.

I definately won't be seeing this film.
