The original malayalam version is not out on dvd. My dad said the orginal movie's name is Poochaku Oru Mookuthi. It came out in late 80's and I'm not sure if Priyadarasan directed the orginal.

As far as I remember it was Priyadarshan's first movie in Malayalam

The orig YTGYMG was a mohanlal starrer. It was probably a hit back in the day. Which is the reason why Priyadarasan aka the big XEROX machine copied it. Priyadarasan is a talented director. I wish he would direct a original script in Hindi instead copying from malayalam.

I cant get what people did not like about this movie. It was absolutely hilarious. The scenes between Akshay Khanna and Paresh Rawal were smashing, especially when he is declaring his love for whom Paresh Rawal believes to be his wife. Aftab was pretty much wasted in the movie and didnt have many good fun moments, but he came through when he made Rajpal Yadav believe that he is the target of a notorious gangster (Chota Chetan :D) and Rajpal's character is terrified. Pure Hilarity. Bring on more movies like this, I'm Loving It!!!!

I previously thought Rimi Sen was the same person as Raima/Reema/Rima Sen...which makes me wonder why her name is spelt differently so many times. Or is Raima and Reema Sen two different people?

Just how many Sen daughters are there?...
two sisters and probably a cousin...
