veej, OCCASIONAL, HOLLYWOOD STUFF TO BLAME! BUT STILL U CANT JUSTIFY 100% S* COMING AT HIGH PRICE, NEW/OLD MOVIES, TRANSFER , MEDIA..EVERY THING, AT PREMIUM PRICE..

I CAN BUY A DECENT SUPER BIT TILE MAN FOR AROUND $14-15 :bangbang: :nopity: :ffs:

So Arsh, your saying since the software is not all that great we should pay 10 bucks a head to sit in a crap cinema?

I'm just defending the sofware in front of the cinemas..my watching a movie on my HT is much better than these indian cinemas..picture/sound/seating/ hell even the atmosphere quality wise/thats the point I'm getting at.

Not eveyone needs to buy a LCD (although they are at the price of some rear projection TVs now) but if space is of concern buy a DLP/Projection/plasma TV and stay home or go to the desi flicks when they are played at the cinesphere or famous players to show support (hell support I love watching desi flicks at these places) but stay away from these obsene places. I went to India last year and not talking bombay but in Gujarat they got 100 times better cinemas.

Its a shame dump hole these places...I used to not say this aload infront of my cousins since they go there every flipping week, but now I just don't care..who ever goes to these places are asking for it....hell atleast you get fee chutney on the seats....

Main Stream theatres like Famous Players, Cineplex Odeon, AMC won't accept a substandard print. If a theatre is hired for a show, that's another story. In MHN case, the theatres have obtained the film prints for themselves. Most main stream thetres have both DD and DTS theatres, so a proper match is likely.

I agree most of the times, in north America, DTS disc doesn't arrive with the print, but sometimes it does. I-Max too is equipped with both sound systems and I have seen some Indian films in DTS there.

But, first question mark is, whether MHN has DTS audio option??
Khakee, Kismat, Bardaasht, etc didn't.

It appears that the next Big Bollywood Film LAKSHYA will be playing at Albion and Woodside in Toronto. It won't be playing at Square One or any other Dolby Digital theatre in Toronto.

It looks like Lakshya is skipping the Loews State, meaning Manhattanites have to go somewhere else to see it. I get the feeling that UTV being new at self-distribution, is having trouble booking it.

I find out films playing in Canadian main stream theatres from http://www.cinemaclock.com/ site. Unfortunately, they list the presently playing films and no indication of which films will be playing from coming Friday. So, will have to wait till Tomorrow to find if Lakshya is being picked up by any main stream theatre.
I did phone Famous Player Square One in Toronto though. They said no new Indian Film this Friday. BTW, Asa Nu Maan Watnan Daa will continue playing in its 5th week at Square One. Still 3 or 4 shows daily. Wow. Definitely, beats MHN in Toronto.

try cineplex they mostly bring indian movies even if they are not the anticipated ones
i find those kind of websites not reliable since when ever i look on the web if an indian movie is oplaying at white theaters it only list one or two ir sometimes none such as DEV. You usually have to phone the theater to find out
btw, the i max told me the running time for the movie is 2h 50min

I was looking forward to watching Lakshya this weekend at Loews. I knew something was up since they didnt list Lakshya. I think it is also playing in some parts of Long Island and at Eagle theater in Queens.

I find
http://www.cinemaclock.com/ very credible and most up to date. Try it. Of course, it will list only those theatres that send in the info. Untill recently, Albion Cinemas were not in it.

BTW, Lakshya is playing at Galaxy Cinema in Atlanta. This cinema has great DD sound.

there's also a theater in new jersey (rutherford i think) that plays hindi and tamil movies. it's on tonnelle rd. and at the bottom of a shopping plaza. i saw yuva there and the presentation was good, but the projectionist didn't take the time to properly frame the image.

Toronto has to be content that Lakshya is at least playing in theatre, even if it's only Albion Woodside, but VOW in Ottawa and Montreal it's playing in AMC theatre 3 shows daily.

Wishfull thinking that AMC will obtain a DTS print as they do have DTS but no Dolby Digital. In case they get a standard DD film print, it'll be backup front channel Dolby only.
