Serials, serials, serials that's all I find no matter what time of day or night I switch on Sony TV :doze:

Has anyone managed to watch anything film related such as songs or film "reviews", if so when?! :keh:

BTW I'm viewing it on NTL cable in the UK

I have Sony TV in the USA via Dish Network. Last Saturday night Sony showed the Film Fare awards. They mostly show Serials Serials and Serials, but in between the shows sometimes you get see film songs and pop songs. On Saturday or it maybe Friday they do show a movie, but they are usually old movies. The last movie they showed that was close to being new was Mission Kashmir.

At least SONY showed a decent film. I have B4U (B$U) and the lastest film they are to show is PAGGLAPAN! Quality of the films are shite, like watching VCD at times with too much pixilation!

Also the programmes on Indian films is really dull and too "Lehren/EPK" for me! The only decent show on B$U is called director's cut when the director comes on to talk about thier films. I liked the last one when they interviewed the director of Chandi Bar. He talked about how he got the idea and finance of the movie. Now why can't stuff like this be on DVD as supplements...?

Cos then no-one would get B4U and the Eros guys would lose out on some more money!!!!!

Its quite sad - we have Sony, Zee TV, Star Plus and Star News - and the only channel I can bring myself to watch is Star News!!!! Oh well, Telewest are hiking the prices soon, so there's a good excuse to get rid of em all!!!

I have ZEE and have noticed that they hardly ever show any decent quality stuff until recently, they are still showing songs from Lagaan from the pirate DVD. Most of their movies are shown from either VCDs or DVD (done by other people) - I wonder if they have any proper contracts to show these?

SONY are no better!

All 5 India Channels on Dish Network in US SUCK big time!!

Zee TV shows same stupid 7 to 8 minutes long ads every ~10 minutes. I cant find contact #s for them in US to complain.

Sony has been showing The same !@#^(!#& K3G song every 20 minutes since last november!! Also, all most all their programming on Saturday is a repeat of previous Sunday.

B4U keeps showing EROS dvds and Z Gold repeats the same movie 10 times a month!!

TV Asia is worst of all with poor video and audio quality and no good programming.

Yout have to pay $50 a month to get these channels and is a real rip off.

DO NOT GET THESE CHANNELS

all the channels repeat a lot.. i was in india recently and star plus seems to be a decent channel for those who like serials... there soaps are mega popular amongst indian masses esp the balaji soaps... and since in india sony and zee are in direct competition with them hence they are trying to get their own soaps... so i guess thats why the emphasis is so much on serials...

I have B4U movies here in Toronto and I actually like it alot. The movies DO get repeated often, but they are pretty good movies and I like the option of watching an Indian movie on TV anytime I want. In between the films, there's always MANY film-related shows including a show that features ONLY trailers (which I LOVE!!). Yeah the Lehren shows are just fluff pieces but they're ok aswell.

On Canadian cable, B4U's only competitor is ATN and that has very few films so I guess B4U is heaven for me!! I'm not really looking for quality that much when in comes to TV - I have a DVD player for that!!

I'm just looking for something to kill the time (which is what TV is for). If I want to properly see a film, I pop in the DVD, turn on the 5.1 sound and enjoy a near-theatrical experience (for Hollywood movies of course :tounge: ).
