Just had a fast broadband internet installation, and trying to download music (audio only).

Anyone know the FREE sites for Bollywood Music MP3 downloads. I been having problems downloading the free version of Kazaa for some reason....

Also, is it 128kbps that should be the minimum Bit Rate for the quality to be good?

Managed to download KAZAA, but couldn't find that many songs that I wanted to download.

There was another site, that I download MP3s of Lata Mangeshkar's rare songs, but the quality was not that good, and the site must have had viruses... Despite having anti-virus software, I managed to pick up some Adware Threat, which keeps creating pop-ups on my PC....

Perhaps I should not bother with these MP3s and stick with traditional buying of CDs... What does anybody think, here?

Isn't Kazaa notorious for having spyware included with it? I use Limewire for mp3s. Haven't really used it for many Indian songs.

BTW, I think musicindiaonline.com and raaga.com come with spyware

If you find good deals for CDs, grab them. New releases can be found quite cheap online, though I preview the songs on CoolGoose or Mahiram. For old stuff, it is not worth $10, as those duffers at HMV use mostly cassette tapes as the source.

The quality of many of my old film CDs is disappointing. I think some of HMV's Golden Collection CDs are of better quality than the actual film CDs. Unlike the DVD market, HMV have a monopoly over old music, so there are no alternatives.

I will look at some of the mentioned sites. Its unfortunate about all that Adware and Spyware stuff that comes with it.... Creates a total mess on the screen!

armaan if you are looking for high quality music then the best way to go is Mirc...this site..http://www.djluv.tk also has quite a few songs...but high quality stuff you will need to learn to download from mirc..

side note..i also prefer the pop-up PM alert then the new one...and also when you are viewing a topic and want to reply...u click on reply..then login..then it takes u back to the main page and you have to work your way through the forum to get to the topic again..

yup don't download all that kaazaka sh**. It will load tons of spyware and adware on your computer, I am still looking at many pop ups ever after 4 months since I cleared everything. Just use torrents. Fast and Better, you can download whole albums in that , even movies

Chrish, to clean up my PC, I found there were many Free Adware and Spyware Removers advertised on the net. But all they did was scan the system, and then wanted at least $30 to remove the threats. But I did find one site that is TOTALLY FREE, including the removal, and it has reduced pop-ups on my PC considerably. Here is the link:

kazaa is full of crap.....try to find kazaa lite if you can...i use that..and havent had any problems..no spyware in that..

By exclusion, if u LOVE QUALITY, go for VJMAJIC route!

search for Spy Bot - It's free adware and spyware remover and works very good, just scan and delete all crape once or twice a week.
