Hey guys, I'm new here so I thought why not start a list of the best Bollywood films of 2004 so far as a way to start my first post. So, what do you guys think are the best films of '04 so far? Rate on a scale of 1 (the worst) to 10 (the best). Anyway, here's my opinion.

1) Ek Hasina Thi - 9.0 - Best film of the year in my opinion. Two award worthy performances are given here by Saif and Urmila, great editing, wonderful BGM and a spectacular debut for director Sriram Raghavan makes this film into a truly brilliant piece of work.

2) Ab Tak Chappan - 8.0 - Nana in one of his greatest performances. He completely dominates the film. If it weren't for him, ATC wouldn't be the film it was. Film itself gets slow at certain points. Ending is a bit of a let-down but still a very good film because of Nana.

3) Khakee - 7.5 - A terrific first half and Amitabh's awesome performance makes "Khakee" what it is - a solid action flick. Second half gets bogged down with too many cliches (not to mention Ajay's over-the-top performance )and unnecessary songs hinder the pace of the film.

4) Chameli - 6.5 - A film that's good because, and only, because of Rahul Bose and Sudhir Mishra's direction. Screenplay is not really developed. Kareena overacts like no tomorrow in the title role and is the sole reason "Chameli" is a good film and not a great one.

And that's about it. I have seen practically every film Bollywood has to offer this year (barring "Maqbool") and these are my choices for the best this year. So let me hear your opinion guys. Comments are gladly welcome.

I didn't like Khakee at all, but I think you're right on with the others..
1) Ek Hasina Thi
2) Ab Tak Chappan
3) Chameli

*Masti had some hope (b/c of the cast) but turned out to be bs
*Isn't Maqbool a 2003 release?

I've only seen 4 hindi films this year so far (Chameli, Khakee, Ek Hasina Thi, & Ab Tak Chappan). And only Chameli passes as a satisfactory product for me.

Possible Name of a forthcoming Film:

AB TALAK # CHHAPAN
:D

That will be a record if they show 56 Divorces in an Indian Film. :D

I've only seen Chameli and Ek Hasina Thi. I extremely liked Chameli, and Ek Hasina Thi was a good movie. I like the style, but the story reminded me of Sridevi's Gumrah. I want to watch Maqbool, Ab Tak Chappan & Meenaxi. The rest is not interesting enough.

Khakee and Munnabhai were the only decent films released so far this year. All the other films were either crap, average or forgetable.

Ek hasina thi? > You must be joking!

Khiladi, I thought Munnabhai was a 2003 release? You forget Meenaxi, which was a very good movie.

O! Man. I just finished watching Meenaxi. It was terrific. I felt as if I was watching a Guy Maddin or a Fellini movie, alloyed with enjoyable Bollywood elements. Raghuvir Yadav was excellent. It's by far, the year's best film from the Bombay Film Industry.
